A METHOD FOR PREPARING AN ORGANOMETALLIC SALT COMPOSITION, AS WELL AS THE USE OF THE COMPOSITION IN A LUBRICANT ADDITIVE
The purpose of the present invention is to provide organometallic salt compositions, prepared by the present innovative method, to produce such compositions that are useful as lubricant additives and/or in lubricant additive compositions, to reduce friction and wear, and also have improved solubility, stability and significantly reduced tendency to agglomerate or form sediments.
Food-grade Lubricating Grease and Method for Preparing Same
Disclosed is food-grade lubricating grease and a method for preparing the same, belonging to the technical field of lubricating grease. The food-grade lubricating grease is prepared from the following components in percentage by mass: 75% to 85% of food-grade white oil, 6% to 16% of stearic acid, 2.0% to 3.0% of benzoic acid, 4.7% to 8.7% of aluminum isopropoxide, 1.0% to 1.5% of water and 1.0% to 7.0% of nano-PTFE, and has good extreme-pressure, abrasion-resistant and friction-reduction properties, a last non-seizure load (P.sub.B) reaching 411.6 N, a sintering load (P.sub.D) reaching 1,960 N, and a friction coefficient reduced by 18.5%. The lubricating grease can be used for a food production industry and in household food appliances, the service life of a device and the service life of the food-grade lubricating grease are effectively prolonged, and meanwhile, food security is guaranteed to a certain degree.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
Provided is a lubricating oil composition to be used in an internal combustion engine having a sliding mechanism including a piston ring and a liner, the lubricating oil composition including: a base oil; (A) a poly(meth)acrylate; and (B) an organic molybdenum compound, in which: (A) the poly(meth)acrylate contains a polymer (A1) including a repeating unit derived from a (meth)acrylate represented by the following formula (1) and having a mass-average molecular weight of from 1,000 to 500,000; and a content of (B) the organic molybdenum compound in a total amount of the composition is from 0.01 mass % to 0.2 mass % in terms of a molybdenum atom: wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and X represents a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 60 carbon atoms, or a functional group-containing hydrocarbon group having 1 to 60 carbon atoms.
Lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine
A lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine, the composition including: a lubricating base oil comprising at least one mineral base oil or at least one synthetic base oil or any combination thereof, the lubricating base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 4.0 to 4.5 mm.sup.2/s and a NOACK evaporation loss at 250° C. of no more than 15 mass %; (A) a calcium-containing metallic detergent in an amount of no less than 1000 mass ppm and less than 2000 mass ppm in terms of calcium on the basis of the total mass of the composition; and optionally (C) a viscosity index improver in an amount of less than 1 mass % on the basis of the total mass of the composition.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAID LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
The lubricating oil composition of the present invention contains, together with a base oil, a viscosity index improver (A) including a comb-shaped polymer (A1), a detergent dispersant (B) including an alkali metal borate (B1) and an organometallic compound (B2) containing a metal atom selected from an alkali metal atom and an alkaline earth metal atom, and a friction modifier (C) including a molybdenum-containing friction modifier, with the total content of an alkali metal atom and an alkaline earth metal atom being 2,000 mass ppm or less. The lubricating oil composition of the present invention has excellent detergency, fuel saving properties, and LSPI-preventing properties.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITION
A lubricating composition for use in the crankcase of an engine comprising (i) a base oil; (ii) one or more organo-molybdenum compounds at a level sufficient to provide from 100 to 1000 ppmw of molybdenum; and (iii) from 0.2 wt % to 5.0 wt %, by weight of the lubricating composition, of one or more organic polymeric friction reducing additives, wherein the one or more organic polymeric friction reducing additives has a molecular weight ranging from 1000 to 30000 Daltons and is the reaction product of: a) a hydrophobic polymeric sub unit which comprises a hydrophobic polymer selected from polyolefins, polyacrylics and polystyrenyls; b) a hydrophilic polymeric sub unit which comprises a hydrophilic polymer selected from polyethers, polyesters, polyamides; c) optionally at least one backbone moiety capable of linking together polymeric sub units; and d) optionally a chain terminating group. The lubricating composition provides improvements in terms of reduced friction and wear, in addition to improved fuel economy performance.
LUBRICANTS FOR USE IN BOOSTED ENGINES
A lubricating oil composition and method of operating a boosted internal combustion engine. The lubricating oil composition is formulated to be resistant to turbocharger deposit formation in the boosted internal combustion engine, as shown by its ability to ensure a TCO Temperature Increase of less than 9.0% as measured using the 2015 version of the General Motors dexos1® Turbocharger Coking Test. The lubricating oil composition may also have a low NOACK volatility, as measured by the method of ASTM D-5800 at 250° C.
QUATERNARY AMMONIUM SULFUR-CONTAINING BINUCLEAR MOLYBDATE SALTS AS LUBRICANT ADDITIVES
The present invention relates to lubricating compositions comprising a compound of Formula I:

wherein R.sub.1-R.sub.4 and R.sub.5-R.sub.8 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbyl groups and hydrocarbyl groups containing heteroatoms, such that the total carbon atoms from counterions Q.sub.1 and Q.sub.2 is from 8 to 76, and molybdate anion (Y) is a binuclear sulfur-containing dianion selected from the group consisting of [Mo.sub.2S.sub.8O.sub.2].sup.2−, [Mo.sub.2S.sub.9O].sup.2−, [Mo.sub.2S.sub.10].sup.2−, and mixtures thereof, and are present in the lubricating composition in an amount sufficient to provide about 100-15,000 ppm molybdenum.
LUBRICANT ADDITIVES
Lubricant additives useful as friction reducing additives are disclosed herein that have a structure according to general formula I, where M is metal such as Ag, Au, Zn or Cu, and R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3, are each a hydrogen, or an alkyl, a substituted alkyl, or an aryl group.
HIGH TEMPERATURE LUBRICANT FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY
The invention relates to a food-grade high-temperature lubricant, more particularly a high-temperature oil and a high-temperature grease, comprising the following components: a) at least one oil selected from a trimellitic ester or a mixture of different trimellitic esters, alkylaromatics, preferably an aliphatically substituted naphthalene, or estolides; b) a hydrogenated or fully hydrogenated polyisobutylene or a mixture of hydrogenated or fully hydrogenated polyisobutylene; and c) additives individually or in combination.
In the case of the high-temperature grease, a thickener is added.
