LUBRICANT COMPOSITION FOR INDUSTRIAL ENGINES WITH INCREASED FE POTENTIAL
The present invention relates to the field of multipurpose lubricants which may be used in the various components of automotive vehicles, notably in the engine, the transmission or the hydraulic circuit.
The invention relates to the use of at least one polymer which improves the viscosity index, chosen from hydrogenated copolymers of diene and of aromatic vinyl, in a lubricant composition for decreasing the viscosity of said lubricant composition in the course of the use of said lubricant composition during the lubrication of the various components of an industrial vehicle, notably of a diesel engine industrial vehicle, such as the engine, the gearbox and the hydraulic circuit, said lubricant composition undergoing at least one thermal shear during its use.
Electrostatic varnish and precursor detection in lubricants
Methods are provided for in-situ detection of varnish and/or deposit precursors in a lubricant in a lubricating environment. An electrostatic accumulator can be used within a lubricating environment to enhance accumulation of varnish and/or deposit precursors on portions of the electrostatic accumulator. The deposits accumulated on the electrostatic accumulator can then be characterized in-situ. The potential difference across portions of the electrostatic accumulator can cause an enhanced rate of deposit accumulation on the electrostatic accumulator, which can facilitate characterization of the tendency of a lubricant to accumulate deposits in the lubricating environment.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING ENGINE PERFORMANCE WITH RENEWABLE LUBRICANT COMPOSITIONS
Provided herein are lubricant compositions comprising renewable base oils as embodied by hydrocarbon mixtures with controlled structure characteristics in combination with lubricant additives that address performance requirements and stricter environmental and fuel economy regulations. The lubricant composition provides performance in the cold crank simulated viscosity (CCS) vs Noack volatility relationship, which allows for the formulation of lower viscosity engine oils with improved fuel economy, improved fuel economy retention, and retained LSPI prevention additionally conferring improved characteristics to other devices or apparatus requiring lubrication.
Composition, method and use
The present invention is directed to aqueous compositions with wax and graphene. These compositions offer surprising benefits in reducing bicycle or motorbike chain lengthening, particularly in off road environments with high dirt and water levels such as during mountain biking or off-road biking. The invention is further directed to a method of preparing such compositions and to the use of such compositions on bicycle or motorbike chains.
