Mixed fleet capable lubricating compositions

This disclosure describes lubricating additives and lubricants including such additives suitable for and/or configured for mixed fleet use and, for instance, additives and lubricants that satisfy performance standards for typical spark ignition passenger car lubricants as well as performance standards for lubricants suitable for typical compression ignition heavy duty engine applications.

Oil compositions

An oil composition comprises at least 50 percent by mass, based on the mass of the composition, of an oil and 0.01 to 25 percent by mass, based on the mass of the composition, of a polymer comprising at least one poly(lactone) segment. The at least one poly(lactone) segment is derived from a lactone substituted by one or two hydrocarbyl groups, or substituted hydrocarbyl groups, at least one such group having at least 4 carbon atoms. The oil compositions are suitable for use in the lubrication of the crankcase of internal combustion engines.

LOW SULFUR DIESEL BLOCKAGE INHIBITOR, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR AND USE THEREOF
20230039122 · 2023-02-09 ·

A low sulfur diesel blockage inhibitor as shown in formula (I), a preparation method therefor, and use thereof are provided. In formula (I), x and y are each an integer between 0 and 4; m and n are each selected from H, a C1-C6 linear or branched alkyl group, or a C3-C6 cycloalkyl group. By using a vegetable oil as a raw material, a modified vegetable oil fatty acid is first obtained, and then a polar group of an unsaturated dialdehyde with a certain chain length is introduced into a molecular chain of the modified vegetable oil fatty acid.

LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITIONS
20180002628 · 2018-01-04 · ·

A crankcase lubricating oil composition for the crankcase of a spark-ignited or compression-ignited internal combustion engine, comprising a magnesium-containing detergent, in an amount sufficient to provide from 200-4000 ppm magnesium to the lubricating oil composition, in combination with an oil-soluble or oil-dispersible molybdenum compound in an amount sufficient to provide from 600-1500 ppm molybdenum atoms to the lubricating oil composition, and with an oil-soluble or oil-dispersible boron-containing compound in an amount sufficient to provide from 200-600 ppm boron atoms to the lubricating oil composition to improve the friction and fuel economy performance.

HYDROXYAROMATIC SUCCINIMIDE DETERGENTS FOR LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS

A lubricating composition includes an oil of lubricating viscosity and an N-substituted hydroxyaromatic succinimide or a salt thereof.

CONTINUOUS ACOUSTIC MIXING FOR PERFORMANCE ADDITIVES AND COMPOSITIONS INCLUDING THE SAME

The instant disclosure provides a process for preparing a lubricant or fuel additive mixture where an oil of lubricating viscosity or fuel are blended with additives that are mixed via an acoustic mixer. The additives and oil of lubricating viscosity or fuel can mixed together or any component of the lubricant or fuel additive mixture can be mixed separately prior to mixing to form the final lubricant. The process provides for continuous mixing to form lubricant and/or fuel additive mixture final products.

Lubricating compositions

Lubricating compositions containing a phosphorus-containing salt of an acylated ethylene-α-olefin polymer substituted with an aliphatic polyamine having at least one primary or secondary amine, the lubricating composition having a total phosphorus content in an amount of 200 ppm to 600 ppm by weight of the lubricating composition. The phosphorus-containing salt additive described herein can be used as an anti-wear agent in lubricating composition for diesel engines.

Engine oil lubricant compositions and methods for making same with superior engine wear protection and corrosion protection

Provided is an engine oil lubricant composition with improved fuel efficiency and engine wear protection. The lubricant composition may include a major amount of an oil basestock from any one or more Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV or Group V base oils. The resulting engine oil lubricant composition may have a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 6 cSt or less, and a corrosion protection of at least 90, as measured according the ASTM D6557 Ball Rust Test. The resulting engine oil lubricant composition may also have a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 6 cSt or less, an HTHS (ASTM D4683) of less than or equal to 2.2 cP at 150° C. and a FZG failure load stage of at least 6, as measured by the FZG A10/16.6R/130 test procedure.
