Solvency enhancer compositions, methods of preparation and methods of use thereof
Disclosed are solvency enhancer compositions, for example, as additives to lubricating oils and as formulated in lubricating oil compositions and associated methods of preparation and use thereof. The compositions and methods can dissolve at least one of oxidation products and other organic polar compounds, due to lubricant degradation, formed and suspended in oil compositions including adding an effective amount of a solvency enhancer to the oils, wherein the solvency enhancer includes Guerbet alcohols. Further described are methods for dissolving organic deposits in an oil system including adding an effective amount of a solvency enhancer to the oil system, wherein the solvency enhancer includes Guerbet alcohols. Also provided are methods for preventing sludge and varnish formation in in-service oils including adding an effective amount of a solvency enhancer to the oils, wherein the solvency enhancer includes Guerbet alcohols.

Alkylated aromatic compounds for high viscosity applications
The present disclosure generally relates to alkylated aromatic compounds useful as basestocks and additives for high viscosity applications. In an embodiment is provided an alkylated aromatic compound. In another embodiment is provided a lubricant formulation that includes an alkylated aromatic compound. In another embodiment is provided a lubricant formulation that includes an alkylated aromatic compound, an additive, and optionally, a Group III basestock, Group IV basestock, Group V basestock, or a combination thereof, the Group V basestock being different than the alkylated aromatic compound. In another embodiment is provided a method of forming a lubricant formulation that includes introducing a mPAO, an aromatic compound, and an acid catalyst to a reactor under reactor conditions to form an alkylated aromatic compound; and introducing the alkylated aromatic compound to an additive to form a lubricant formulation.
Industrial oil composition
An industrial oil composition contains a mineral or a synthetic oil as a base oil, and a neutral phosphite ester derivative represented by the following formula (B) and a 2,6-di-t-butylphenol derivative represented by the following formula (C) as antioxidants. In the formula (B), R.sup.b21 to R.sup.b24 each independently represent an aliphatic hydrocarbon group of 10 to 16 carbon atoms. Dehydrating and degassing unit
The invention relates to devices for purifying hydraulic and dielectric fluids (oils and fuels) of dispersed and dissolved water. The unit for dehydrating and degassing hydraulic and dielectric fluids comprises a vacuum tank, an atomizer with a spray member, said atomizer being disposed in the vacuum tank, a hydraulic feed pump connected by a pipe to the atomizer, a hydraulic discharge pump connected by a pipe to the tank, and a vacuum pump connected by a pipe to the tank, wherein the atomizer is arranged vertically in the lower part of the vacuum tank with the spray member oriented upward and consists of: a T fitting with a lower inlet for oil and with a lateral air inlet; a mixing chamber disposed above the T fitting; and a spray member disposed above the mixing chamber. The technical result consists in providing more efficient dehydration and degassing of hydraulic and dielectric fluids, increasing useful volume of the vacuum tank without increasing the dimensions thereof, reducing the dispersivity of fluid sprayed from the atomizer, and simplifying the design.

Viscosity index improver and lubricating oil composition
The present invention aims to provide a viscosity-index improving agent having an excellent friction reduction effect to reduce friction of a lubricating oil composition when the viscosity-index improving agent is added thereto. The present also aims to provide a lubricating oil composition containing the viscosity-index improving agent. The present invention relates to, for example, a viscosity-index improving agent containing: (co)polymer (A) containing, as an essential constituent monomer, a polyolefin-based monomer (a) represented by the following formula (1); an ester oil (B1) having a kinematic viscosity at 100 C. of 1.00 to 2.50 mm.sup.2/s; and an ester oil (B2) having a kinematic viscosity at 100 C. of 2.51 to 5.00 mm.sup.2/s: ##STR00001##

LUBRICATING COMPOSITION
A substantially zinc-free hydraulic fluid is provided. The substantially zinc-free hydraulic fluid contains a calcium detergent, an ashless antioxidant, and a metal-free phosphorous containing anti-wear agent. In one embodiment, the fluid contains at least 90 weight percent of a base oil having less than 500 ppm sulfur, a calcium detergent in an amount to deliver 5 ppm to 200 ppm calcium to the fluid, at least one metal-free phosphorus containing anti-wear agent to provide 10 ppm to 150 ppm phosphorous, and one or more ashless antioxidants. A method of lubricating a hydraulic system with the substantially zinc-free fluid is also provided.
