Compressed Unit Dose Toilet Cleaning Tablets

A compressed unit dose toilet cleaning tablet for use with a wand. The unit dose contains surfactant, organic acid, and an organic acid buffering agent and is compressed into a tablet or puck that dissolves in toilet water after cleaning. The tablet has a top surface, a bottom surface, a height extending from the top surface to the bottom surface, and a diameter. The top surface has an indentation adapted to receive and engage with a wand. A ratio of the height to the diameter of the tablet is between 0.2 and 0.3. A kit contains a plurality of the tablets and a wand.

Concentrated Liquid Detergent

Unit dose detergent packs and detergent compositions are provided. A unit dose detergent pack includes a pouch made of a water-soluble film and a detergent composition encapsulated within the pouch. The detergent composition includes a surfactant component including (1) an alcohol ethoxy sulfate having a C.sub.8-C.sub.20 backbone ethoxylated with from about 1 to about 10 moles of ethylene oxide, (2) at least one non-ionic surfactant having an alkoxylated alcohol, and (3) at least one anionic surfactant having a linear alkylbenzene sulfonate wherein (1), (2), and (3) are present in a weight ratio of actives of about (0 to 0.5):(0.05 to 0.9):(0 to 0.75). The detergent composition also includes water and a rheology control agent. The rheology control agent is selected from ethylene glycol monohexyl ether, ethylene glycol monopropyl ether, an ethoxylated ester, polyethylene glycol 400, an alkoxylated amine, and combinations of two or more thereof.

Antimicrobial composition comprising alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer

An antimicrobial composition comprising: a) C2-C8 alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer; and b) biocidal agent selected from the group consisting of quaternary ammonium compounds, chlorohexidine salts, polymeric biguanides, organic acids, hydrogen peroxide, tertiary alkyl amines, iodophors and mixtures thereof.

Anionic surfactants and detergents and cleaning agents containing same

The invention relates to surfactants of general formula (I) or general formula (II) or a mixture thereof, in which R represents a linear or branched alkyl, alkenyl, alkylaryl or alkenylaryl group having 5-25 C atoms and X.sup.+ represents a charge-balancing cation. The surfactants can be incorporated into detergents or cleaning agents, have excellent technological application properties and can be produced based on renewable raw materials.

WATER-SOLUBLE FILM, AND CHEMICAL AGENTS-ENCLOSING PACKAGING CAPSULE MATERIAL HAVING SAME

Provided is a water-soluble film for molding a packaging capsule which is capable of enclosing chemical agents especially a detergent, has a robust property that prevents leakage of the detergent through suitable thickness and strength and an easy-processing property that keeps robustness not to make a drawn portion break in mold-processing such as deep drawing, further has a soluble resistance that does not make the chemical agent elute within 30 seconds in water at 20° C. and a complete-solubility property within a short period of time in dish-washing and clothes-washing, also has sufficient solubility and complete-solubility properties for film portions around the perimeter edge pasted with a water-soluble film for a top, and exhibits a strong-sealing property to have a temporal stability.

A water-soluble film comprises one or more kinds of anion-group-modified polyvinyl alcohols including repeating units from a fatty acid vinyl ester comonomer and anion-group-containing repeating units, in which a degree of saponification thereof is set from 91 mol% or more to 99 mol% or less and a degree of modification by anion groups is set from 1.0 mol% or more to 6.0 mol% or less so that an amount of anion-group modification is set from 1.0 mol% or more to 3.5 mo%l or less to a total amount of the anion-group-modified polyvinyl alcohols, and are formed by including less than 45 parts by mass of a plasticizer per 100 parts by mass of a total amount of the anion-group-modified polyvinyl alcohols, and have a tensile modulus of 100 MPa or less.

Method for producing a washing agent portion unit with improved optical and rheological properties

A method for producing a washing agent portion unit having at least one receiving chamber surrounded by a water-soluble film, including the steps of: a) transporting a first water-soluble film in the direction of a dosing station; b) molding the first water-soluble film into the cavities of a deep-drawing die located below the water-soluble film, forming at least one cavity in the direction of travel of the film; c) filling the cavity by way of the dosing station with a first flowable washing agent preparation containing, based on its total weight, i) 20 to 80 wt. % surfactant; ii) 2 to 15 wt. % fatty acid; iii) 0.3 to 8 wt. % of the salt of a divalent cation; iv) 8 to 35 wt. % solvent; d) transporting the filled cavity in the direction of a sealing station; e) sealing the filled cavity with a second water-soluble film, and the washing agent portion.

CLEANING PRODUCT

The invention is a detergent solution for cleaning a receptacle for milk or liquid milk-derived products, the detergent solution comprising water, one or more types of surfactant and an odour absorbing compound. The surfactants are provided to dissolve greasy milk-based residues from the receptacle and the odour absorbing compound is provided to neutralise odours produced by any remaining milk-based residues not removed by the surfactants. The detergent solution is water-based so that it can be rinsed off easily in a sink in the home. The detergent solution is particularly suited to plastic receptacles because plastic is more prone to accumulating mal-odour producing bacteria. This is because a plastic surface is more porous than glass so it is more difficult to remove greasy residues from a plastic surface and therefore grease can build up in the pores, out of the reach of surfactants, and provide a place for odour-producing bacteria to grow. An odour absorbing compound does not remove the residue but can neutralise the odours from the residue. The invention also discloses a method for dispensing a detergent solution comprising at least one surfactant, the method comprising ejecting detergent solution from a reservoir in the form of a spray, wherein the surfactant is present in the detergent solution in an amount of from 3% to 15% by weight of the detergent solution. The invention discloses also a method of cleaning a receptacle for milk, or liquid milk-derived products, the method comprising: spraying a detergent solution comprising at least one surfactant onto the receptacle, wherein the surfactant is present in the detergent solution in an amount of from 3% to 15% by weight of the detergent solution.
