A cleansing bar composition comprising at least one cleanser chosen from soap and surfactant; taurine, in free or salt form; and one or more hydrophobic stabilizing agents. The hydrophobic stabilizing agent prevents the crystallization of taurine on the surface of the cleansing bar. Also methods of making the cleansing bar to inhibit crystallization of taurine in a cleansing bar.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a solid free-flowing particulate laundry detergent composition, wherein the process includes the steps of: (a) forming a mixture by contacting: (i) molten fatty acid; (ii) liquid alkaline ingredient, and (iii) non-ionic surfactant, to obtain a mixture, wherein the mixture includes: (i) partially neutralized fatty acid component; (ii) non-ionic surfactant; and (iii) water, wherein the molar ratio of fatty acid to liquid alkaline ingredient contacted together in step (a) is above 1:1; (b) contacting the mixture obtained in step (a) to a detergent powder to form a solid free-flowing particulate laundry detergent composition, wherein in step (b) the mixture is contacted to the detergent powder by spraying the mixture at a temperature of greater than 50° C. onto the detergent powder, wherein the detergent powder includes a detergent ingredient.

The present invention relates to an antimicrobial cleansing composition and a method of cleaning or disinfecting a surface. The invention more particularly relates to an antimicrobial cleansing composition that provides antimicrobial efficacy in cleaning applications having relatively short contact times. An object of the present invention is to provide an antimicrobial cleansing composition that exhibits biocidal activity in relatively short contact times of 1 minute to 10 seconds. Another object of the present invention is to provide an antimicrobial cleansing composition which exhibits antimicrobial activity at very low concentration of silver compound. A further object of the present invention is to provide an antimicrobial cleansing composition which has consumer-acceptable aesthetic properties. A still further object of the present invention is to provide an antimicrobial composition that is highly efficacious against a broad spectrum of gram positive and gram negative bacteria. We have determined that antibacterial activity in relatively short contact times against gram positive and gram negative microorganisms in a soap based cleansing composition having silver compound enhances considerably in presence of a further salt of carboxylic acid. It has been additionally found that the antibacterial activity is enhanced even at very low concentrations of silver compound.

The concentrated cleaning composition comprising a nonionic surfactant, fatty acid methyl ester sulfonate, fatty acid soap, one or a plurality of enzymes, and a solvent system. The soap composition may contain up to 50% vegetable butter fat(s). The semi-continuous process for saponification provides a fast and energy efficient alternative to prior art methods, while also allowing for high quality bar soap that contains a high content (up to 50%) of vegetable butter fat(s).

Natural liquid potassium soap compositions and methods of manufacturing and using the same are provided with thickening by the addition of chloride salts, such as sodium chloride and potassium chloride. The natural liquid potassium soap compositions may contain one or more fatty acids with carbon length ranging from four (C4) to twenty-two (C22) or natural fatty acid mixtures with coconut oil, olive oil, tallow, sunflower oil, safflower oil, and/or tall oil fatty acids which are saponified with lye. The saponification lye is preferably potassium hydroxide.
