In-ovo injection device
A device to inject a composition into an egg includes a guide member, a first locking member and a second locking member. The guide member includes an outer casing secured to the injection needle and an inner casing which can move in translation inside the outer casing. The inner casing connected to the trocar and comprising a cup configured to bear on the upper part of the egg. The first locking member configured to block the movement of the trocar. The second locking member configured to block the movement of the injection needle inserted into the trocar.
Apparatus for harvesting egg fluid, and associated method
A harvesting apparatus adapted to harvest egg fluid from an avian egg is provided. Such an apparatus includes a frame. A harvesting assembly is operably engaged with the frame. The harvesting assembly includes a plurality of nozzles configured to remove egg fluid from an egg. The nozzles are configured to rotate from a vertically off-axis angled position toward a vertical position. A suction assembly is in fluid communication with the nozzles for harvesting egg fluid from an egg. An associated method is also provided.

IMPROVEMENT TO FUNCTIONAL MODULE FOR THE SELECTIVE APPLICATION OF SUBSTANCES INSIDE FERTILE EGGS
An improvement to a functional module for the selective application of substances inside fertile eggs represents an inventive solution in the field of poultry fanning, in particular in the field of poultry breeding, and more specifically in the step of application of vaccines and/or nutrients into fertile eggs by injection, this improvement reducing the risk of violation of biological safety, and ensuring the integrity and survival of the embryo (Em), limiting intra-ovum nutritional supplementation to the amniotic fluid (Li) only, without contact of the needle (a13) with the embryo (Em), and to achieve this condition the module for the selective application of substances inside fertile eggs (Ov) has a structure composed of an injector selector submodule (m1), a selective operation actuation submodule (m2), a speed control submodule (m3) and a common perforator/needle return submodule (m4).
EGG OPENER, EX OVO TUMOR XENOGRAFT METHOD, THERAPEUTIC COMPOUND ASSAY, THERAPEUTIC COMPOUND TESTING METHOD VIA EX OVO QUAIL EGG XENOGRAFT ASSAY
An egg opener for a predetermined number of eggs contains a frame and a sliding blade holder which simplifies and speeds up embryo transfer to multi-well plates. A method for preparing an ex ovo tumor xenograft contains the steps of: preparing an ex ovo CAM and adding a cell-infused media to the CAM, wherein the cell-infused media comprises tumor cells to form an ex ovo tumor xenograft. An assay for testing a therapeutic compound contains the steps of providing an ex ovo tumor xenograft as described herein, and adding a therapeutic compound to the CAM, preferably via a therapeutic compound infused in a delivery media such as, for example, an osmotic bead. A method herein can test a therapeutic compound via an ex ovo quail egg xenograft assay, and methods and drugs herein may treat Ewing sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma and hepatoblastoma.
