LUNG BREATHING CHIP AND CELL STRETCHING CULTURE PLATFORM AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF
A lung breathing chip and cell stretching culture platform and an operating method thereof are disclosed. The lung breathing chip and cell stretching culture platform controls the output of the motor by programming, stretches the micro-fluidic chip by the cam component, changes the size of the cam component and the frequency of the motor rotation to change the stretching frequency and the amount of stretching to simulate the breathing of the lungs in different states, uses liquid electrophoresis technology to arrange the cells in the biocompatible hydrogel and the hydrogel three-dimensionally to imitate the three-dimensional cell tissue, and injects drugs through the dynamic perfusion system to realize the drug testing platform that the cells of the chip bionic lung tissue are stretched.
DISPOSABLE BIOPROCESS SYSTEM SUPPORTING BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY
A Disposable Bioprocess System including a Single-Use-Bioreactor, a Single-Use-Pump and a single-use micro-organism retention filter. Combined most suitable for cultivation of suspended micro-organisms in a liquid media at high micro-organism concentration in a perfusion mode continuous process for expression of biological material. The inlet port of the liquid Single-Use-Pump connects via a valve to the broth reservoir of the Single-Use-Bioreactor through a liquid conveying port. The outlet port of the liquid pumping Single-Use-Pump connects via a valve to a micro-organism retention filter. And a method for operating said sterile Disposable Bioprocess System in perfusion mode for continuously processing.
Method for proliferation of cells within a bioreactor using a disposable pumphead and filter assembly
A method for promoting biological activity uses a filter system to increase cell production of a fed batch bioreactor. The filter system cycles bioreactor fluid through a hollow fiber tangential flow filter which separates metabolic wastes (as well as proteins) from cells produced in bioreactor and returned to fed batch bioreactor, improving cell production in the fed batch bioreactor. The filter system includes a disposable pump and filter, and a reusable control system. The pump is a low shear gamma stable pump gently cycling bioreactor fluid through the filter with minimal damage to the cells produced in the bioreactor. The pumphead and hollow fiber tangential flow filter are disposable. The pump motor is part of the control system and is reusable. The pumphead and filter are provided as an assembled and pre-sterilized unit allowing simple and quick attachment to the fed batch bioreactor, and simple and quick disposal.
STACKED FIXED BED BIOREACTOR AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
A modular and stacked cell culture system that includes a standalone cell culture subunit with an interior cavity to house a cell culture substrate in a cell culture space, a fluid inlet to supply fluid to the cell culture space, and a fluid outlet to remove fluid from the cavity. The cavity is arranged for fluid to flow in from the fluid inlet, then through the cell culture space, and then out through the fluid outlet. The subunit further includes an alignment feature on at least one of a top and a bottom of the standalone cell culture subunit, wherein the alignment feature aligns with an alignment feature of another standalone cell culture subunit, such that multiple standalone cell culture subunits are stackable.
A HOST-MICROBE CO-CULTURE PERFUSION BIOREACTOR FOR DISCOVERY OF SECRETED PRODUCTS AND NOVEL INTERACTIONS AT THE HUMAN-MICROBIOTA INTERFACE
The present invention relates to a perfusion bioreactor for co-culturing, wherein the bioreactor grows cells in two separate environments and enables communication across environments and populations. The chambers' contents are continuously mixed to expose the environment (or cell population) of each chamber to the secreted products of the other chamber. The said bioreactor comprises at least, but not limited to, two chambers, with separate cell populations with at least two separate environments independently selected from aerobic or anaerobic environment and media favorable to cell growth. The bioreactor allows for multiple samples to be collected during an experiment to enable various analytical techniques and results. Additionally, the bioreactor comprises a multi-chamber cell culture system capable of emulating the gastro-intestinal tract.
