METHOD AND COMPOSITIONS FOR ENGINEERING GRAPEVINE RED BLOTCH VIRUS-RESISTANT GRAPEVINE
Compositions and methods for transforming cells and generating transgenic grapevine plants comprising two silencing suppressor proteins C2 and V2 encoded by GRBV and recombinant hairpin vectors targeting C2 and V2, which are be used to generate stably transformed transgenic grapevine plants.
Method for the production of haploid and subsequent doubled haploid plants
It was found that plants with loss of functional Msi2 protein due to a nucleotide polymorphism resulting in the introduction of a premature stop codon in the Msi2 protein, are able to induce haploid offspring after a cross to or with a wild type plant comprising a functional Msi2 protein. The invention relates to generation of haploid and doubled haploid plants.
Mutant <i>Nicotiana benthamiana </i>plant or cell with reduced XylT and FucT
Materials and methods are provided for making plants (e.g., Nicotiana varieties) that are suitable for producing therapeutic polypeptides suitable for administration to humans and animals, particularly by making TAL effector endonuclease-induced mutations in genes encoding xylosyltransferases and fucosyltransferases.
Tobacco plant and method for manufacturing same
The present invention provides a tobacco plant which is suitable for cultivation for harvesting leaf tobaccos. The present invention includes (i) a tobacco plant in which a mutation for suppressing the development of axillary buds is introduced and (ii) a method of producing the tobacco plant.
Tissue-specific expression control of DELLA polypeptides
Constructs for genetically engineering plants to selectively alter DELLA gene expression to promote plant growth while maintaining root integrity are provided, as are methods of designing, making and using such constructs.
Modifying the specificity of plant non-coding RNA molecules for silencing gene expression
A method of modifying a gene encoding or processed into a non-coding RNA molecule having no RNA silencing activity in a plant cell is disclosed. The method comprising introducing into the plant cell a DNA editing agent conferring a silencing specificity of the non-coding RNA molecule towards a target RNA of interest. A method of modifying a gene encoding or processed into a RNA silencing molecule in a plant cell is also disclosed. The method comprising introducing into the plant cell a DNA editing agent which redirects the silencing specificity of the non-coding RNA molecule towards a target RNA of interest. Plant cells, plant seeds, plants, and methods of generating plants are also disclosed.
Recombinant DNA Constructs and Methods for Controlling Gene Expression
The present invention provides molecular constructs and methods for use thereof, including constructs including heterologous miRNA recognition sites, constructs for gene suppression including a gene suppression element embedded within an intron flanked on one or on both sides by non-protein-coding sequence, constructs containing engineered miRNA or miRNA precursors, and constructs for suppression of production of mature microRNA in a cell. Also provided are transgenic plant cells, plants, and seeds containing such constructs, and methods for their use. The invention further provides transgenic plant cells, plants, and seeds containing recombinant DNA for the ligand-controlled expression of a target sequence, which may be endogenous or exogenous. Also disclosed are novel miRNAs and miRNA precursors from crop plants including maize and soy.
Modified Gene Silencing
This invention relates to methods of controlling gene expression or gene suppression in eukaryotic cells. One aspect of this invention includes modifying the degree of silencing of a target gene by use of a modified suppression element. Another aspect includes providing a eukaryotic cell having a desired phenotype resulting from transcription in the eukaryotic cell of a modified suppression element. Also provided are transgenic eukaryotic cells, transgenic plant cells, plants, and seeds containing modified suppression elements, and useful derivatives of such transgenic plant cells, plants, or seeds, such as food or feed products.
ENZYMES AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS
The present invention relates generally to the field of recombinant fatty acid synthesis, particularly in transgenic plants. The application describes genes involved in fatty acid synthesis and provides methods and vectors for the manipulation of fatty acid composition of plant oils. In particular, the invention provides constructs for achieving the integration of multiple heterologous genes involved in fatty acid synthesis into the plant genome, such that the resulting plants produce altered levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Also described are methods for enhancing the expression of fatty acid biosynthesis enzymes by co-expressing a silencing suppressor within the plant storage organ.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING LEPTINOTARSA
