The present invention relates to xylanase variants of a parent xylanase having increased thermostability when compared to the parent xylanase. The present invention also relates to polynucleotides encoding the variants, nucleic acid constructs, vectors, and host cells comprising the polynucleotides, and method of producing the variants of the present invention.
Engineered Microorganism for the Production of Cannabinoids
A genetically engineered microorganism for the production of a cannabinoid is described. The genetically engineered microorganism comprises at least one nucleic acid molecule encoding at least one cannabinoid biosynthetic pathway enzyme. The disclosure also relates to methods for producing a cannabinoid using a genetically engineered microorganism.
HIGH YIELD ROUTE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF COMPOUNDS FROM RENEWABLE SOURCES
Provided herein are methods, compositions, and non-naturally occurring microbial organism for preparing compounds such as α-butanol, butyric acid, succinic acid, 1,4-butanediol, 1-pentanol, pentanoic acid, glutaric acid, 1,5-pentanediol, 1-hexanol, hexanoic acid, adipic acid, 1,6-hexanediol, 6-hydroxy hexanoic acid, ε-Caprolactone, 6-amino-hexanoic acid, ε-Caprolactam, hexamethylenediamine, linear fatty acids and linear fatty alcohols that are between 7-25 carbons long, linear alkanes and linear α-alkenes that are between 6-24 carbons long, sebacic acid and dodecanedioic acid comprising: a) converting a C.sub.N aldehyde and pyruvate to a C.sub.N+3 β-hydroxyketone intermediate through an aldol addition; and b) converting the C.sub.N+3 β-hydroxyketone intermediate to the compounds through enzymatic steps, or a combination of enzymatic and chemical steps.
INJECTABLE HIGH CONCENTRATION PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATIONS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING AND USE THEREOF
The present invention provides compositions comprising one or more active pharmaceutical ingredients, wherein the compositions are in the form of high solids concentration pastes capable of being injected in relatively low volumes into an animal using standard commercially available syringes. The invention also provides methods of making such compositions, particularly those compositions comprising high molecular weight active ingredients (e.g., antibodies, enzymes and other proteins and peptides) at relatively high therapeutic concentrations in the high solids concentration pastes. The invention further provides methods of using such formulations in treating, preventing and/or ameliorating certain diseases and physical disorders in animals, including humans, in need thereof. The invention also provides kits comprising the formulations of the invention and a suitable syringe, which in some aspects may be pre-loaded or pre-filled with a composition of the invention.
Controlled-release and stratified cyclodextrin inclusion complex vehicles
The invention provides cyclodextrin inclusion complex delivery vehicles formulated for oral delivery, in which the cyclodextrin inclusion complex comprising N-acetylcysteine and acetaminophen as stacked guest molecules within the cyclodextrin cavity is provided together with an enzyme having a cyclodextrin-degrading activity capable of digesting the cyclodextrin, so that upon delivery of the vehicle to a target the enzyme is activated and releases N-acetylcysteine and acetaminophen from the cyclodextrin cavity. In alternative aspects, these cyclodextrin inclusion complex delivery vehicles are for example provided in the form of medicaments, food ingredients, medical food ingredients, nutritional supplement ingredients, dietary supplement ingredients, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, animal repellents, pheromones, plant growth regulators, fragrances, fabrics or packaging materials.
Yeast cell wall derived flavour
The present invention relates to a method for producing a flavour composition comprising providing a slurry of yeast cell walls and contacting the slurry of yeast cell walls with a glucanase and with an endoprotease, followed by separating a liquid fraction by solid/liquid separation to provide the liquid flavour composition.
MATERIALS AND METHODS FOR THE TREATMENT OF GAUCHER DISEASE
A method of treating a subject suffering from Gaucher Disease is provided, the method including administering to the subject an effective amount of a composition including saposin C, dioleoylphosphatidylserine (SapC-DOPS), and acid β-glucosidase (GCase). Also provided is a nanovesicle including saposin C, dioleoylphosphatidylserine, and acid β-glucosidase and pharmaceutical compositions including the SapC-DOPS-GCase nanovesicles.
METHODS FOR PROMOTING PLANT HEALTH USING FREE ENZYMES AND MICROORGANISMS THAT OVEREXPRESS ENZYMES
Methods for stimulating plant growth and/or promoting plant health using free enzymes or recombinant microorganisms that overexpress enzymes are provided. Plant seeds coated with free enzymes or recombinant microorganisms that overexpress enzymes are also provided. Compositions comprising a fertilizer and an enzyme or a recombinant microorganism that overexpresses an enzyme are provided. Modified enzymes having ACC deaminase activity, recombinant microorganisms expressing the modified enzymes, plant seeds treated with the modified enzymes or recombinant microorganisms, and methods for stimulating plant growth and/or promoting plant health using the modified enzymes or recombinant microorganisms are also provided.
METHOD
The present invention relates to a method of preparing a fermented milk product. The method comprises the steps of treating a milk substrate with a low pH sensitive peptidase and a microorganism, and allowing the treated milk substrate to ferment to produce the fermented milk product.
