Engineered benzylisoquinoline alkaloid epimerases and methods of producing benzylisoquinoline alkaloids
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for increasing production of an alkaloid product through the epimerization of a (S)-1-benzylisoquinoline alkaloid to a (R)-1-benyzlisoquinoline alkaloid via an engineered epimerase in an engineered host cell. A (S)-1-benzylisoquinoline alkaloid is contacted with said engineered epimerase. Contacting said (S)-1-benzylisoquinoline alkaloid with said engineered epimerase converts said (S)-1-benzylisoquinoline alkaloid to said (R)-1-benzylisoquinoline alkaloid.
Methods for producing ribosomally synthesized and posttranslationally modified peptides
The disclosure provides recombinant cells and methods for producing a ribosomally synthesized and posttranslationally modified peptide (RiPP), as well as RiPP libraries and methods for producing RiPP libraries.
ENGINEERED BACTERIA EXPRESSING RACEMASE FOR TREATING DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH HYPERAMMONEMIA
Disclosed herein are bacteria engineered to treat diseases associated with hyperammonemia and methods of use thereof. Specifically, the bacteria are engineered to comprise a racemase to enable the detection of non-naturally occurring metabolites as an indication that the engineered bacteria are effectively converting ammonia.
