A method for preparing a magnesium-based hydrogen storage material, includes: a Mg—Ce—Ni family amorphous alloy is prepared by a rapid cooling process; the amorphous alloy is pulverized, so as to obtain a amorphous powder; the amorphous alloy is activated, so as to obtain a MgH.sub.2—Mg.sub.2NiH.sub.4—CeH.sub.2.73 family nanocrystalline composite; the abovementioned composite is carried out a hydrogen absorption and desorption cycle, then the composite is placed in a pure Ar atmosphere for passivation, finally, the passivated composite is oxidized, so as to obtain a MgH.sub.2—Mg.sub.2NiH.sub.4—CeH.sub.2.73—CeO.sub.2 family nanocrystalline composite.

Bulk metallic glass-based gripping arrays of nano- or micro-scale grippers are described, along with the methods of fabrication and use thereof. BMG-based gripping arrays can be fabricated via facile and scalable thermoplastic forming/molding methods typically available to polymeric materials, yet they possess many of the favorable properties of metallic alloys that polymers lack, such as, for example, excellent mechanical properties and robustness towards wear and adverse surrounding conditions.

A metal component is disclosed. The metal component has a first dimension greater than 5 mm, and a second dimension greater than 5 mm. The metal component may include where the alloy includes titanium, aluminum, vanadium, carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. The alloy may include zirconium, titanium, copper, nickel, and beryllium. The metal component is not die-cast, melt-spun, or forged. An ejector and a method for jetting the metal component is also disclosed.

SENSING METHOD, SENSOR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A method of manufacturing a sensor comprises: providing a substrate; forming a photoresist layer on the substrate, wherein the photoresist layer comprises a hole array which comprises a plurality of holes which pass through from one side of the photoresist layer to the substrate; sputtering a metallic glass material on the photoresist layer to deposit the metallic glass material on a hole wall of each hole and a part of the substrate defined by the hole wall; removing the photoresist layer and forming a nanotube array structure of the metallic glass material, wherein the nanotube array structure comprises a plurality of nanotubes, and each nanotube has an open end opposite to the substrate; performing a surface treatment on the nanotube array structure to form a plurality of functional groups in each nanotube; and anchoring a plurality of aptamers in each nanotube by activating the plurality of functional groups.
Corrosion resistant hydrophobic coatings and methods of production thereof
A cost-effective method of forming a hydrophobic coating on a substrate and coated substrates are disclosed. Specifically, the method comprises applying amorphous powders of an alloy to the substrate through a cold spray process. Also provided is a novel type of hydrophobic coating made of metallic glasses or amorphous alloys. The hydrophobic coatings offer advantages such as, low cost, low maintenance, and high corrosion resistance.
