SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DIRECT DEPOSITION OF THIXOTROPIC ALLOYS
A method may comprise: placing a probe in a molten metal melt comprising a thixotropic metal alloy; injecting a gas into the molten metal melt to form a saturated slurry, the saturated slurry being at a temperature above a liquidus temperature of the thixotropic metal alloy after injecting the gas; removing the probe from the molten metal melt; and depositing the molten metal melt through an extruder of an additive manufacturing system.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A COMPOSITE TURBOMACHINE BLADED DISK (BLISK) WITH CERAMIC REINFORCEMENT
A method for manufacturing a metal bladed wheel of a turbomachine reinforced by an insert made of metal matrix composite material, includes winding the ceramic fibers around a mandrel in order to form the insert, the ceramic fibers being surrounded by a material constituting the matrix; and spark plasma sintering the insert with a powder of metal constituting the bladed wheel to be manufactured.
Metal matrix composite automotive gears
Carbon fiber reinforced metal matrix composite gears include a planar carbon fiber structure fully encapsulated within a metal matrix formed of sintered metal nanoparticles. The metal nanoparticles can be composed of a metal having a high sintering temperature that would ordinarily destroy the carbon fiber. Novel techniques for making small uniform nanoparticles for sintering lowers the sintering temperature to a level that can accommodate carbon fiber. The composite gears possess high strength to weight ratio.
WEAR RESISTANT COMPOSITE
A composite body and a method for producing an integrally cast composite body, which includes at least two zones. A first zone is substantially formed of metal material, and, a second zone additionally includes a non-metallic reinforcing material, such as cement carbide. The composite body is particularly useful for producing products which have at least one wear resistant zone or surface.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING METAL MATRIX COMPOSITE PARTS
A method of manufacturing metal matrix composite (MMC) parts, including the steps of applying a metallic sheath around a bundle of MMC laminates, heating the bundle of MMC laminates in the metallic sheath at a curing or fusing temperature to consolidate the bundle of MMC laminates into a single cured or fused part, and then cooling the cured or fused part. The bundle of MMC laminates may be formed by removing surface contamination from the dry reinforcement fibers, creating a plurality of individual MMC laminates by plating dry reinforcement fibers with electroless nickel, and/or electrodeposited nickel or cobalt, and stacking each of the plurality of individual MMC laminates into a bundle. Autocatalytic and/or electroplating may be used as the primary means to incorporate fiber reinforcement into the metal matrix composite by covering and bonding fiber reinforcement into MMC laminates/plies and/or 3-D woven parts.

High Entropy Alloy Having Composite Microstructure and Method of Manufacturing the Same
A metallic alloy, more particularly, a high-entropy alloy with a composite structure exhibits high strength and good ductility, and is used as a component material in electromagnetic, chemical, shipbuilding, machinery, and other applications, and in extreme environments, and the like.
CONTINUOUS ELECTROPHORETIC DEPOSITION MODIFIED CARBON FIBER REINFORCED MULTI-MATRIX COMPOSITE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure discloses a continuous electrophoretic deposition modified carbon fiber reinforced multi-matrix composite and a preparation method thereof, composing of a carbon fiber with a volume fraction of 30-55%, an inorganic powder with a volume fraction of 3-25% and a matrix with a volume fraction of 20-67%, wherein the inorganic powder is wrapped on the surface of the carbon fiber filament or embedded in the carbon fiber bundle, and the concentration gradually decreases from the fiber filament to the surface of the fiber bundle. The preparation method of the composite is as follows: (1) pretreating the carbon fibers; (2) preparing a slurry of the inorganic powder; (3) widening the pretreated carbon fiber to form a carbon fiber strip, and then carrying out electrophoretic deposition on the inorganic powders; (4) preparing a preform from the deposited carbon fibers; and (5) compounding a matrix in the preform.
