Yet another aspect employs a plasma reactor for use in activating, etching and/or coating tumbling workpiece material.

Coated API Particles

The present invention chiefly aims to provide a new API particle in which a metal or the like is coated on the API itself of a pharmaceutical solid dosage form.

The present invention includes, for example, a coated API particle, wherein the surface of an API particle is coated with a metal or a metal oxide (e.g., iron oxide) by sputter deposition, and a process for manufacturing a pharmaceutical solid dosage form (e.g., tablet) using the coated API particles.

According to the present invention, for example, it is possible to improve the photostability of an API itself or of pharmaceutical solid dosage forms produced with the API.

Method of virtually adhering materials to surfaces prior to encapsulation

A virtual adhesion method is provided. The virtual adhesion method includes increasing a magnetic characteristic of an initial structure, supporting the initial structure on a surface of a substrate, generating a magnetic field directed such that the initial structure is forced toward the surface of the substrate and forming an encapsulation, which is bound to exposed portions of the surface, around the initial structure.

A method of forming an article includes producing a base powder including a plurality of base particles. Each base particle includes an external surface and a first material. The method further includes removing one or more oxides from the external surface of each base particle to form a cleaned powder including a plurality of cleaned particles. Each cleaned particle includes a cleaned external surface made of the first material. The method further includes coating the cleaned external surface of each cleaned particle with a second material having a greater oxidation resistance than the first material to form a coated powder including a plurality of coated particles. Each coated particle includes an external layer including the second material that fully covers the cleaned external surface made of the first material. The method further includes forming the article using the coated powder.

PISTON CRANK AGITATION MECHANISM FOR PHYSICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION CONFORMAL COATINGS ON POWDER

Various implementations include a device for deposition of conformal coatings. The device includes a powder container, a connecting rod, and a crankshaft. The powder container has a first side configured to contain a powder and a second side. The connecting rod has a first end directly hingedly coupled to the second side of the powder container and a second end. The crankshaft has a longitudinal axis, a main shaft portion extending along the longitudinal axis, and a cam portion radially offset from and rotatable about the longitudinal axis. The second end of the connecting rod is directly rotatably coupled to the cam portion. Rotation of the crankshaft about the longitudinal axis causes the second end of the connecting rod to rotate about the longitudinal axis, causing the powder container to linearly oscillate between a first position and a second position.

LOADED BODY, APPARATUS FOR PRODUCINGLOADED BODY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING LOADED BODY

Nanoclusters are produced in a gas phase using a nanocluster manufacturing section including: a vacuum container; a sputtering source that has a target as a cathode, performs magnetron sputtering by pulse discharge, and generates plasma; a pulse power source that supplies pulsed power to the sputtering source; a first inert gas supply section that supplies a first inert gas to the sputtering source; a nanocluster growth cell that is contained in the vacuum container; and a second inert gas introduction section that introduces a second inert gas into the nanocluster growth cell. A multitude of supports are rolled in the gas phase and each of the supports is sprinkled with a multitude of nanoclusters to cause each support to support the multitude of nanoclusters.

Metal powder particles

A method for surface treatment of a metal material in a powder state is provided, the method including obtaining a powder formed from a plurality of particles of the metal material to be treated; and subjecting the powder to an ion implantation process by directing a beam of singly-charged or multi-charged ions towards an outer surface of the particles, the beam being produced by a source of singly-charged or multi-charged ions, whereby the particles have an overall spherical shape with a radius (R). There is also provided a material in a powder state formed from a plurality of particles having a ceramic outer layer and a metal core, the particles having an overall spherical shape.
