Apparatus for treating a metal strip including an electromagnetic stabilizer utilizing pot magnets
An apparatus for treating a metal strip after it has exited from a coating container with a liquid coating material, for example zinc is provided. The apparatus includes a blow-off device arranged above the coating container having an air outlet gap for blowing off excess parts of the still liquid coating material from the surface of the metal strip after the passing of the metal strip through the coating container. An electromagnetic stabilizer is arranged above the blow-off device and has a plurality of individual magnets for stabilizing the metal strip after leaving the coating container and the blow-off device. In order to further increase the efficiency of the apparatus, at least some of the magnets of the stabilizer are formed as pot magnets with pot coils.

Equipment for the continuous hot dip-coating of a metal strip 9 including an annealing furnace, a tank 2 containing a liquid metal bath 3, a snout connecting the annealing furnace and tank 2, through which the metal strip 9 runs in a protective atmosphere and the lower part of the snout, the sabot 5, is at least partly immersed in the liquid metal bath 3 in order to define with the surface of the bath, and inside this snout, a liquid seal 6, an overflow 7 not connected to the snout, the overflow 7 including at least one tray 8, placed in the vicinity of the strip 9 when entering the liquid metal bath 3 and encompassed by liquid seal 6.

A coated stainless-steel substrate including a coating including nanographites and a binder being sodium silicate, wherein the stainless-steel substrate has the following composition in weight percent: C≤1.2%, Cr≥11.0%, Ni≥8.0% and on a purely optional basis, one or more elements such as Nb≤6.0%, B≤1.0%, Ti≤3.0%, Cu≤5.0%, Co≤3.0%, N≤1.0%, V≤3.0%, Si≤4.0%, Mn≤5.0%, P≤0.5%, S≤0.5%, Mo≤6.0%, Ce≤1.0%, the remainder of the composition being made of iron and inevitable impurities resulting from the elaboration. A method for the manufacture of this coated stainless-steel substrate is also provided.

Disclosed is a device for removing mattes from the surface of a liquid metal bath inside a duct of a line for continuously coating a metal strip having first and second faces, the first face being intended to come into contact with a bottom roller, comprising a compartment via which the liquid metal inside the duct is replenished by being drawn off by a pump to which the compartment is connected, characterized in that the compartment is capable of being removed by disassembly means without the metal strip needing to be cut.
Method of producing metal-coated steel strip
A method of forming a coating of an Al—Zn—Si—Mg alloy on a steel strip to form an Al—Zn—Mg—Si coated steel strip is disclosed. The method includes the steps of dipping steel strip into a bath of molten Al—Zn—Si—Mg alloy and forming a coating of the alloy on exposed surfaces of the steel strip and cooling the coated strip with cooling water. The cooling step includes controlling the p H of cooling water to be in a range of pH 5-9. Particular embodiments focus on Al—Zn—Si—Mg alloys that contain the following elements in % by weight: Zn: 2 to 19, Si: 0.01 to 2, Mg: 1 to 10, and Balance Al and unavoidable impurities.
