MULTILAYERED ANODE IN LIQUID BASED ELECTROLYSIS
A coated electrode assembly (CEA) comprising: i) a gas diffusion layer (GDE); and ii) a coating. The GDE comprises a gas diffusion layer (GDL) and a catalyst layer. The catalyst layer is disposed between the coating and the GDL. The catalyst layer comprises a hydrophobic polymer and/or an ionomeric polymer and the coating comprises a hydrophobic polymer and/or an ionomeric polymer. A method for making a CEA is provided. The CEA may have improved performance and stability compared to a membrane electrode assembly (MEA).

The CEA may have improved performance and stability compared to a membrane electrode assembly (MEA).
CATALYST
A catalyst comprising a porous electrically conductive substrate (such as a foam, carbon fibre paper and carbon fibre cloth) and a porous metallic composite of amorphous NiMoP coating at least a portion of the surface or multiple surfaces of the substrate. The composite preferably forms a continuous layer which coats the surfaces and pores of the substrate. Also methods for preparing and using the catalyst, for example in electrolytic water splitting.

The present disclosure relates to an electrode for electrolysis, in which a structure of a metal base layer is optimized, and a preparation method thereof, wherein the electrode for electrolysis of the present invention exhibits an overvoltage improved in comparison to a conventional electrode while having excellent durability due to a small loss of a coating layer.

The electrodes (7, 8) of the half-cells (3, 4) and the anion exchange membrane (9) form a membrane/electrode assembly (MEA). There is also provided means (2) for feeding the water-containing liquid to only one of the anodic half-cell (3) and the cathodic half-cell (4), wherein the electrode in the other, substantially dry, half-cell is ionomer-free and/or binder-free.

On the porous (photo)cathode side of the first reactor there is a fluid inlet able to carry carbon dioxide, air and water, and on the side of the porous (photo)cathode of the second reactor there is a fluid outlet able to carry carbon dioxide and water.
