ELECTROLYSIS ELEMENT FOR ALKALINE WATER ELECTROLYSIS, AND ALKALINE WATER ELECTROLYSIS VESSEL
An electrolysis element for alkaline water electrolysis includes: an electroconductive separating wall including a first face and a second face; an anode for generating oxygen; a cathode for generating hydrogen; a first connecting means fixing the anode to the separating wall such that the anode faces the first face of the separating wall at a first distance, and electrically connecting the anode to the separating wall; an electroconductive elastic body supporting the cathode; and a cathode current collector supporting the elastic body, the cathode current collector being fixed to the separating wall, to face the second face of the separating wall at a second distance, and being electrically connected to the separating wall, the first connecting means including: an electroconductive bolt including at least a shaft, wherein the anode is removably fixed to the separating wall by means of the electroconductive bolt.

ELECTROCHEMICAL PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN FROM SEA WATER
The invention relates to an apparatus for the electrochemical production of hydrogen gas from salt water, the apparatus comprising at least one cathode; at least one anode spaced apart from the cathode by a defined distance and connectors for electrically connecting the electrodes to a pulsating DC power supply; wherein the cathode comprises a paramagnetic material and the anode comprises a diamagnetic material. The invention also relates to an environmentally-friendly method for the production of hydrogen gas from sea water.

Provided is a production method that enables production of carbonyl sulfide by a gas phase flow method without using a catalyst. The method of producing carbonyl sulfide includes causing electrical discharge of a feedstock gas containing starting substances that include CS.sub.2 and one or more selected from the group consisting of CO.sub.2, CO, O.sub.2, and O.sub.3 while in a continuous flow state and then causing release to outside of an electrical discharge zone.
