The present disclosure relates to a cathodically depositable aqueous electrodeposition coating material including at least one epoxide-amine adduct (a), at least one pigment and/or at least one filler (b), and at least one crosslinking agent (c), a fraction of at least 25 wt % of the crosslinking agent (c), based on the total weight of the crosslinking agent (c), being formed by at least one tris(alkoxycarbonylamino)-1,3,5-triazine; to a method for coating an electrically conductive substrate by cathodic electrodeposition coating using said electrodeposition coating material; to a substrate coated accordingly; and also to a use of a tris(alkoxycarbonylamino)-1,3,5-triazine in a cathodically depositable electrodeposition coating material for reducing or eliminating the sensitivity to disruption of the electrodeposition coating bath toward impurities present therein through phosphates and/or through other metal salts which have been carried into the electrodeposition coating bath as a result of pretreatment steps ahead of the electrodeposition coating.

Aqueous cathodic electrocoating compositions, methods for preparing aqueous cathodic electrocoating compositions, and methods for electrodepositing coatings from aqueous cathodic electrocoating compositions are provided. An aqueous cathodic electrocoating composition having a binder resin and a crosslinking agent is provided. In the aqueous cathodic electrocoating composition, a bismuth-sugar solution is used to provide a catalytic amount of a bismuth compound dispersed in the electrocoating composition.

The invention relates to a method for coating surfaces, to a corresponding coating, and to the use of the objects coated in accordance with said method. The invention relates to a method for coating metal surfaces of substrates, comprising or consisting of the following steps: I. providing a substrate having a cleaned metal surface, II. contacting and coating metal surfaces with an aqueous composition in the form of a dispersion and/or suspension, IX. optionally rinsing the organic coating, and X. drying and/or baking the organic coating or XI. optionally drying the organic coating and coating with a coating composition of the same type or a further coating composition before a drying process and/or baking process, wherein in step II the coating is performed with an aqueous composition in the form of a dispersion and/or suspension containing 2.5 to 45 wt % of at least one non-ionic stabilized binder and 0.1 to 2.0 wt % of a gelling agent, wherein the aqueous composition has a pH value in the range of 0.5 to 7 and forms, with the cations eluted from the metal surface in the pretreatment step and/or during the contacting in step II, a coating based on an ionogenic gel.

The invention relates to a method for coating surfaces, to a corresponding coating, and to the use of the objects coated in accordance with said method. The present invention is directed towards an electrodepositable coating composition comprising, consisting essentially of, or consisting of an ionic salt group-containing silicone-based main film-forming polymer comprising functional groups; and a curing agent reactive with the functional groups of the ionic salt group-containing silicone-based main film-forming polymer. Also disclosed are coatings, coated substrates, and methods of coating a substrate.
