Baling press for cotton gin trash and other biomass feedstock and methods of using the same
A baling press for baling cotton gin trash and other particulate biomass feedstock. The baling press includes an infeed chute assembly, a compression ram assembly, an extrusion chamber assembly, a strapping storage and dispensing assembly, and a strapping insertion assembly. Methods of producing a bale with the baling press and a bale generated by the baling press are also described.

Saw gin stand seed roll monitoring feature
A system and method includes a seed roll of a saw type gin stand which can easily be inspected in an efficient and safe manner within the normal course of operation. The monitoring of the seed roll is desirable for prediction of irregularities that could significantly hamper the production of a ginning facility. This monitoring can take place by manual inspection with the eye or touch of the operator. In addition, this feature will facilitate the opportunity to introduce a new automatic process by which the control system can monitor the seed roll in order to improve overall productivity of the gin stand.
Lint cleaner
An apparatus for cleaning trash from cotton lint utilizes a combing cylinder having a plurality of teeth covering its surface and extending therefrom in a manner to release the cotton lint to a cleaning cylinder. The combing cylinder surface moves slower than the cleaning cylinder to comb the lint as it is delivered to the cleaning cylinder. Means are provided to vary the speed of the combing cylinder to match the lint processing parameters, including negating lint combing all together.
Microwave drying of seed cotton and other crops
A microwave dryer includes a vertical chamber having sensors determining the level of agricultural products in the chamber and a series of wave generators delivering wave energy into the chamber. If the level sensors detect an air/product interface in the chamber, wave generators above the interface are deactivated. Temperature sensors in the chamber are used to limit power input through the wave generators and to determine the presence of water rich areas in the chamber. In the event water rich areas are detected, additional power is delivered to wave generators downstream of the water rich areas. The wave generators are mounted on a wall spaced from the chamber through which product flows.

DRYING SEED COTTON IN A FEED CONTROLLER
A seed cotton dryer comprises an array of electromagnetic wave energy generators in a cotton gin, a cotton picker/stripper. An appropriate amount of energy is used to evaporate a considerable amount of moisture in the seed cotton without producing enough energy to pop the cotton seeds. Seed cotton dried by wave energy is much easier to separate the cotton seeds and lint from leaves, stems and other plant parts. The seed cotton is preferably transported through the dryer in a conduit having flat sides which reflects the wave energy more efficiently than through a round conduit. Provisions are made to prevent arcing in the transport conduit when extraneous metal pieces are inadvertently mixed with the seed cotton. In some embodiments, heated air from a diesel engine is used to dry crops as they are being harvested.
