Method for producing a carbon fibre by recycling cotton
The invention concerns a method for producing a carbon fibre, that comprises a step of preparing a continuous fibre made of cellulose from cotton fabrics, by extracting, from these fabrics, cotton in the form of short, discontinuous fibres, and implementing a solvent spinning process; this step being followed by a step of carbonising said obtained continuous fibre made from cellulose, in order to form a carbon fibre. This carbon fibre can be used, in particular, for producing articles made from composite material made from carbon fibres and polymer organic resin.
ELECTROCHROMIC WIRE THREAD AND RELATIVE FABRICS
The present invention is directed to eyectrochromic, supercapacitor yarns and the related fabrics. An electrochromic yarn formed by two interwind threads has been invented. The yarn is electrically isolated by a transparent, uncolored polymer. Each thread is the superposition of three concentric layers. The most internal one, the core, has the function of support and/or conductive layer, the second one is the eiectrochromic layer containing conductive nanoparticies, the third layer is a polymer dielectric blend. The yarns described above allows to generate electrochromic fabrics in which the colour can be varied by the application of small electric voltages fed by a battery with variable power supply controlled by a microprocessor connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth technology. A specific application on the smartphone allows to change the voltage supply to the fabrics, in order to get the desired chromatic change.
LYOCELL MATERIAL FOR CIGARETTE FILTER, AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
This invention relates to a method of manufacturing a lyocell material for a cigarette filter, including (S1) spinning a lyocell spinning dope composed of 8 to 13 wt % of a cellulose pulp and 87 to 92 wt % of an N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) aqueous solution; (S2) coagulating the lyocell spinning dope spun in (S1), thus obtaining a lyocell multifilament; (S3) water-washing the lyocell multifilament obtained in (S2); (S4) oiling the lyocell multifilament water-washed in (S3); and (S5) applying steam and pressure to the lyocell multifilament obtained in (S4), thus obtaining a crimped tow having 30 to 40 crimps per inch.
SUSTAINABLE TIRE WASTE AEROGEL WITH TUNABLE FLEXIBILITY MADE FROM RECYCLED TIRES FOR AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS
A method of manufacturing an elastic polymer aerogel material includes dissolving tire waste, the tire waste including natural rubber, synthetic polymers, steel, fillers, and curing systems, in a solvent to form a first mixture and dissolving a polymer having at least one double carbon-carbon bond in the solvent to form a second mixture. The first mixture and the second mixture are combined, wherein the tire waste reacts with the polymer having at least one double carbon-carbon bond to form a reactant gel. The reactant gel undergoes a solvent exchange followed by freeze drying to form the elastic polymer aerogel material, wherein the elastic polymer aerogel material defines a 3D porous structure.
