The second conductive yarn can provide a feedback signal corresponding to the stimulus provided by the first conductive yarn of the signaling layer.

TECHNOLOGIES FOR FIBER NANOTECHNOLOGY

Technologies for fibers with nanotechnology is disclosed. In the illustrative embodiment, a preform is 3D printed with one or more sacrificial cores and one or more hollow channels. The preform is drawn into a fiber, and one or more metal core(s) is inserted into the hollow channel during the fiber draw. The fiber is then heated, breaking up the sacrificial cores into balls through capillary action. The fiber can be etched, exposing the balls made up of the sacrificial cores. The balls can be selectively etched, exposing the metal core(s) of the fiber. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

The present invention relates to a surgical suture having excellent biocompatibility and low friction, and to a method for manufacturing same. The suture according to the present invention has excellent biocompatibility and low friction, thereby reducing pain that may occur in a patient during suturing and minimizing the occurrence of inflammation in cells at a suture site, and also has excellent contact properties with cells, thereby capable of being used for various medical and surgical operations.

Polymer fiber actuators

Actuators (artificial muscles) comprising twist-spun nanofiber yarn or twist-inserted polymer fibers generate actuation when powered electrically, photonically, chemically, thermally, by absorption, or by other means. These artificial muscles utilize polymer fibers non-coiled or coiled yarns and can be either neat or comprising a guest. Devices comprising these artificial muscles are also described. In some embodiments, thermally-powered polymer fiber torsional actuator has a twisted, chain-oriented polymer fiber that has a first degree of twist at a first temperature and a second degree of twist at a second temperature in which the bias angles of the first degree and second degree of twist are substantially different.

MEDICATED THREAD MANUFACTURING SYSTEM AND MEDICATED THREAD MANUFACTURING METHOD

Disclosed are a medicated thread manufacturing system and medicated thread manufacturing method. The medicated thread manufacturing system includes a first slideway and a second slideway, a thread clamping apparatus and a medicine spraying apparatus that are slidably arranged on the first slideway, and a thread winding apparatus slidably arranged on the second slideway. The thread clamping apparatus is used for clamping two ends of a to-be-processed medicated thread, straightening the to-be-processed medicated thread and twisting the to-be-processed medicated thread in the straightened state into a single-strand rope state. The medicine spraying apparatus is used for spraying a medicine towards a surface layer of the to-be-processed medicated thread in the straightened state. The thread winding apparatus is used for abutting a center position of the to-be-processed medicated thread in the single-strand rope state and pulling the to-be-processed medicated thread towards a direction opposite to the first slideway to fold the to-be-processed medicated thread, and used for rotating the to-be-processed medicated thread, such that the to-be-processed medicated thread winds and extends from middle to two ends to be twisted in a double-strand rope state. The control apparatus controls a matching opportunity of the thread clamping apparatus, the medicine spraying apparatus and the thread winding apparatus. Artificial participation is not needed in the manufacturing process of the medicated thread, such that automation of manufacturing the medicated thread is realized.
