A garment for a human wearer includes: a terry garment-region having terry-knit cloth; and a non-terry garment-region having non-terry-knit cloth. The terry garment-region is directly bordering and adjacent to the non-terry garment-region. The terry garment-region and the non-terry garment-region are a seamless continuation of each other. Similarly, a continuous fabric for making clothes includes: a terry fabric-region having terry-knit cloth, and an adjacent and immediately bordering non-terry fabric-region having non-terry-knit cloth. Optionally, TPU or PVC elements or plastic elements are embedded within the terry garment-region, or within the non-terry garment-region; or such elements cover, or are covered by, the terry garment-region or the non-terry garment-region.

Aspects of the present invention are directed toward a knitted band that may be incorporated into a garment that encircles or partially encircles one or more body regions of a wearer in an as-worn position. The knitted band has a plurality of functional zones that integrally knit together. One of the functional zones facilitates ventilation that helps cool the wearer.

A lower torso garment, such as a brief, includes a body having a pair of leg openings, a crotch portion between the leg openings, and a waist opening, and a waist band connected to the body and positioned at the waist opening. The waist band includes an elastomeric band affixed between overlapping plies of fabric, and the elastomeric band includes a thermoplastic elastomer film. A garment having an elongated body portion configured to be worn about the legs and waist of a wearer. The elongated body portion includes a leg portion configured for receipt of a leg of the wearer, the leg portion having an inner thigh portion and an outer thigh portion. A waistband has at least one ribbed side panel configured to stretch and effectively increase the length of the waistband to accommodate another wearer having a greater waist size. The outer thigh portion has a ribbed outer thigh panel configured to stretch, and the inner thigh portion has a circumferentially-extending thigh gap band configured to effectively compress and slim the inner thigh portion of the wearer. Also, the elongated body portion includes a circumferentially-extending finger band configured to extend the length of the garment to accommodate a wearer of greater height.

The present invention relates to knits that can be used to make rip-resistant sheer hosiery or similar garments, using a specific combination of UHMWPE fiber and stretch fiber, such as spandex. The knit has rip-resistant and anti-microbial properties. Details are provided to avoid problems with pilling and the appearance of bald spots during use. A variation of the knit is useful for activewear.
