Polishing pad and method for manufacturing same
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a polishing pad that is long-lasting, has a high polish rate, and is capable of producing a high degree of flatness on polished articles; and a method for manufacturing the polishing pad. The solution provided is to eliminate a sea component from a non-woven fabric that includes a binder fabric and a sea-island type composite fiber composed of the sea component and an island component, the island component having a diameter of 10-2500 nm, and to add a polymer elastic body to the non-woven fabric.
Self-crimped multi-component fibers and methods of making the same
Self-crimped multi-component fibers (SMF) are provided that include (i) a first component comprising a first polymeric material, in which the first polymeric material comprises a first melt flow rate (MFR) that is less than 50 g/10 min; and (ii) a second component comprising a second polymeric material, in which the second component is different than the first component. The SMF includes one or more three-dimensional crimped portions. Also provided are nonwoven fabrics comprising a plurality of SMFs. Methods of manufacturing SMFs and nonwoven fabrics including SMFs are also provided.
SHEET MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
The sheet material according to the present invention has a polymer elastic body and a fibrous base material comprising ultrafine fibers, wherein the average single fiber diameter of the ultrafine fibers is 0.1 .Math.m to 10.0 .Math.m, the polymer elastic body has a hydrophilic group and an N-acylurea bond and/or an isourea bond, and the following conditions are satisfied : the longitudinal stiffness, in accordance with method A (45° cantilever method) in the text of “8.21 Stiffness” of JIS L 1096:2010 “Testing Methods for Woven and Knitted Fabrics”, is 40 mm to 140 mm ; and after immersion for 24 hours in N,N-dimethylformamide, the following are obtained in wear testing using a pressing load of 12.0 kPa and 20,000 friction cycles in accordance with method E (Martindale method) in the text of “8.19 Wear Strength and Friction Discoloration” of JIS L 1096:2010 “Testing Methods for Woven and Knitted Fabrics”: a grade of at least 4 and a wear loss of not more than 25 mg.
Fibrous structures exhibiting improved whiteness index values
Fibrous structures, for example sanitary tissue products, containing a plurality of filaments that employ one or more filament-forming materials, such as one or more hydroxyl polymers, and one or more hueing agents, present within the filaments such that the fibrous structures exhibit a Whiteness Index of greater than 72 as measured according to the Whiteness Index Test Method described herein.
Stretchable non-woven fabric having excellent repetition durability
Provided are a stretchable non-woven fabric including crimped fibers, satisfying the following formula: (σ.sub.65−σ.sub.55)/(σ.sub.30−σ.sub.20)≥2.5, when a stress σ (N/50 mm) at a strain ε of 20%, 30%, 55% and 65% in a stress-strain curve by a tensile test for at least one direction in a plane direction, is referred to as σ.sub.20, σ.sub.30, σ.sub.55 and σ.sub.65, respectively, and a bandage including the non-woven fabric. The non-woven fabric and the bandage lead small deterioration in stretching performance when used repeatedly, and can be excellent in repetition durability.
High Loft Nonwoven Fabrics
Nonwoven fabrics are provided that include a plurality of crimped bicomponent fibers having a first component comprising a first polymeric material comprising a first polymer or a first polymeric blend and a second component comprising a second polymeric material, in which the second polymeric material comprises a second polymeric blend of (i) at least one polypropylene polymer, (ii) at least one polyethylene polymer, and (iii) at least one compatibilizer comprising or consisting of at least one polypropylene-polyethylene copolymer.

Non-woven electret fibrous webs and methods of making same
A non-woven electret fibrous web for electrostatic adsorption and odor elimination and the preparation process thereof. In certain exemplary embodiments, the non-woven electret fibrous web includes a multiplicity of electret fibers, at least one of a plurality of photo-catalytic fibers or a plurality of multi-component fibers; and optionally, at least one of a plurality of chemically-active particulates, a plurality of carbon-based fibers, or a plurality of mono-component thermoplastic fibers. In other exemplary embodiments, carding and cross-lapping or air-laying processes are disclosed for making nonwoven fibrous webs including electret fibers and one or more of photocatalytic fibers, chemically-active particulates, multi-component fibers, mono-component thermoplastic fibers, or carbon-based fibers. In some exemplary embodiments, exemplary non-woven electret fibrous webs of the disclosure exhibit superior gas permeation characteristics, high adsorption characteristics for airborne contaminants, as well as an odor elimination function.
NAPPED ARTIFICIAL LEATHER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Disclosed is a napped artificial leather napped including: a non-woven fabric that is an entangle body of ultrafine fibers; and an elastic polymer impregnated into the non-woven fabric, the napped artificial leather having, at least on one side thereof, a napped surface formed by napping the ultrafine fibers, wherein the ultrafine fibers contain 0.5 mass % or more of a pigment (A), the elastic polymer contains 0 to 0.01 mass % of a pigment (B), and the ultrafine fibers and the elastic polymer are undyed; the napped surface has a lightness L* value of 25 or less in a color coordinate space (L*a*b* color space); and a ratio of an area occupied by the elastic polymer, observed on the napped surface, to a total area of an area occupied by the ultrafine fibers and the area occupied by the elastic polymer is 0.5% or less.
