FIBERBALL PADDING WITH DIFFERENT FIBERBALL SHAPE FOR HIGHER INSULATION
A fiberball includes: a core region; and a shell region. A fiber density in the core region is higher than a fiber density in the shell region. At least 50% by weight of fibers contained in the fiberball, based on a total weight of the fibers contained in the fiberball, have a length of at least 60 mm.
Apparatus for making melt-blown multilayer nonwoven
An apparatus for making nonwoven has a mesh belt moving in a horizontal direction and upstream and downstream spinnerets spaced apart in the direction above the belt and having downwardly opening tips at respective vertical spacings above the belt and each emitting fibers that are deposited at locations on the belt directly below the spinnerets to form thereon respective nonwoven layers. A support carrying the belt can be moved vertically and pivoted to orient the belt into a position forming an acute angle with respect to horizontal and thereby vary the spacings.
Method and apparatus for forming a fiber nonwoven
An aerodynamic nonwoven formation, in which the nonwoven formation occurs in the operating range of a milling roller. The nonwoven formation takes place using a fiber opening unit, a moving screening surface with suction and a milling roller. The nonwoven-forming fibers are removed from the fiber opening roller and form a nonwoven after a flight or slide route. The nonwoven formation takes place in an area that is limited by an angle a against the direction of movement of the screen and by an angle β with the movement of the screen relative to a section from the center of the milling roller to the screening belt.

CO-MINGLING OF PARTICULAR MATERIAL AND CO-AXIAL-MELTBLOWN FIBERS
The present invention relates to the manufacturing equipment for web materials comprising fibers and particulate material, to a process of operating such an equipment and to particular materials resulting therefrom. Coaxially meltblown fibres are combined with a stream of particulate or short fiber material and the resulting commingled mixture is deposited onto a collector. The meltblown fibers are formed by nozzles which are divided into two or more sub-arrays configured to produce two or more different types of fiber, having e.g. different diameters and/or polymer composition.
BAST FIBER, FABRICS MADE THEREWITH, AND RELATED METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
The invention relates to methods for providing crimped bast fibers which may include providing an input of bast fibers, adjusting the moisture content of the bast fibers to be in the range of about 10% to about 40% by weight to form a fiber mat, and contacting the fiber mat with a pair of heated crimping rolls to provide crimped bast fibers having a crimp of about 1 to about 10 crimps per centimeter. The invention further provides for a nonwoven fabric comprising at least 5% of the crimped bast fibers. The crimping of the bast fibers in these nonwoven fabrics is beneficial to forming a drylaid, airlaid or wetlaid nonwoven fabric that has desirable properties related to performance in a variety of nonwoven product applications.
Reinforced non-woven fabric, assembly including such a fabric, and method for treating a non-woven fabric
A non-woven sheet (10) comprises at least one zone of reinforcement (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d) in which fibers and/or filaments constituting the sheet are bonded together in a reinforcing pattern (22) comprising a plurality of geometric shapes (24), the zone of reinforcement extending over the entire length (L) of the sheet measured in the longitudinal direction (X1), and over a width (l1, l2) strictly less than the width (l) of the sheet (10) measured in a lateral direction (Y1) orthogonal to the longitudinal direction (X1). The sheet (10) thus further comprises at least one non-reinforced zone (30a, 30b). Because of the bonding between the fibers and/or filaments, the elongation of the reinforced zone (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d) under the effect of a given force exerted in a longitudinal direction of the sheet (10) is less than the elongation of the non-reinforced zone under the effect of the same force. Such a sheet (10) may be used in particular for fabricating a laminated assembly.
