An agitator post is positioned adjacent to the impeller and is also rotational about the vertical axis. The agitator post includes a plurality of vane sets spaced apart along the vertical axis with each vane set including at least one helical vane.

A filtration system for a laundry treating machine is provided. A filtration agitator extends upwards from an impeller base and defines a generally hollow cylindrical interior, the filtration agitator having one or more water inlets along its perimeter to permit passage of water from a treating chamber into the interior and one or more water outlets along its perimeter to permit passage of the water out of the interior. A removable cylindrical brush assembly is provided, that, when installed to the filtration agitator, extends along the vertical length of the agitator and defines a sequence of filtration elements through which a water flow passes from the water inlets to the water outlets. The water flow is configured to pass over the sequence of filtration elements in a predefined order to remove particulates from the water flow during a wash cycle.

A filtration system for a laundry treating machine is provided. A filtration agitator extends upwards from an impeller base and defines a generally hollow cylindrical interior, the filtration agitator having one or more water inlets along its perimeter to permit passage of water from a treating chamber into the interior and one or more water outlets along its perimeter to permit passage of the water out of the interior. A removable cylindrical brush assembly is provided, that, when installed to the filtration agitator, extends along the vertical length of the agitator and defines a sequence of filtration elements through which a water flow passes from the water inlets to the water outlets. The water flow is configured to pass over the sequence of filtration elements in a predefined order to remove particulates from the water flow during a wash cycle.

The mounting face may include a threaded bracket defining a mounting thread extending about a rotation axis. The mounting face may define a vertical slot radially inward from the mounting thread.. The extended post may be removably attached to the impeller base to rotate therewith. The extended post may include a base body, an auger fin, and a mating face. The base body may extend between a bottom end and a top end. The auger fin may extend radially from the base body. The mating face may be disposed on the bottom end. The mating face may define a mating thread matched to the mounting thread to rotatably enmesh therewith.

A biasing element may be used to help secure or release the agitator post. The agitator post is rotated to secure or release it from the impeller. A removable cap may be included.

The laundry treating system is user configurable between first, second, and third configurations. A kit for customizing a laundry treating appliance can include a second clothes mover and a second basket configured to removably couple with the laundry treating appliance.

A washer appliance with removable agitator post including a shaft positioned within the agitator post. A plunger may be attached to the shaft near the bottom end of the agitator post and is movable between an up position and a down position along the vertical axis. A plurality of bearings may be positioned between the plunger and the agitator post and configured for selective contact with the receptacle by movement through the openings at the bottom end of the agitator post so as to secure the agitator post in the receptacle when the plunger is in the up position and release the agitator post from the receptacle when the plunger is in the down position.
