Washing machine and method for controlling same

Provided are a washing machine in which an auxiliary door can be safely and conveniently used and a method of controlling the same. The auxiliary door through which laundry can be additionally put into the washing machine, and the auxiliary door can be safely locked/unlocked. Because an open/closed state of the auxiliary door can be indirectly determined through a locking/unlocking operation of the auxiliary door, even when a door opening/closing detecting device has broken down, the auxiliary door can be safely used. The auxiliary door is unlocked by default and conditions on which the auxiliary door is locked for safety if necessary, are minimized during an operation of the washing machine so that use convenience of the auxiliary door can be enhanced, and a locked state of the auxiliary door is maintained according to the amount of laundry so that the laundry can be safely put into the washing machine.

Washing machine and method for controlling the same

A washing machine includes a washing tub configured to accommodate laundry therein, a motor configured to rotate the washing tub, and a controller. The controller is configured to: determine a laundry amount and a laundry-tangled degree by using a plurality of types of data that are measured while rotating the washing tub at a specific rotational speed; set an allowable unbalance (UB) value corresponding to the laundry amount and the laundry-tangled degree; determine a UB value based on rotating the washing tub during a dewatering stroke; and control the motor to stop rotating the washing tub based on the UB value exceeding the allowable UB value.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SETTING PARAMETERS OF A TREATMENT CYCLE

A method and system for setting parameters of a treatment cycle in a household appliance is provided. First a model establishing a relationship between sets of configuration parameter values of achievable treatment performance is obtained. Then a target treatment performance for the treatment cycle is obtained. Values for a subset of a configuration parameter are fixed, the subset comprising at most all configuration parameters but a remaining configuration parameter. Then, a value for the remaining configuration parameter is determined. For this value, a difference between the target treatment performance and an achievable treatment performance predicted by the model using said value is below a predetermined threshold. Finally, the parameters of the treatment cycle, which can be setting parameters of the treatment cycle in the household appliance are output. The parameters comprise the determined value and the fixed values.

WASHING MACHINE AND SPIN-DRYING CONTROL METHOD FOR WASHING MACHINE

The present invention relates to a washing machine and a spin-drying control method for the same, the washing machine including an inner tub, a drain pump, a motor and a control unit that controls the drain pump and the motor and carries out a spin-drying cycle including a sub spin-drying cycle and a main spin-drying cycle. The control unit changes a preset rotation time of the inner tub in the main spin-drying cycle according to the rotation speed of the inner tub during the sub spin-drying cycle, or determines whether to change the spin-drying time of the main spin-drying cycle according to a current value of the drain pump during the main spin-drying cycle, thereby improving spin-drying efficiency.

WASHER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

A washer includes a drum, a motor connected to the drum, a motor drive connected to the motor and configured to supply a driving current to the motor to rotate the drum, and a processor connected to the motor drive. The processor is configured to control the motor drive to supply the driving current to the motor to rotate the motor at a target speed and to determine a magnitude of a load accommodated in the drum while controlling a rotational speed of the motor within a predetermined range.

LOW-SPEED WINDING RESISTANCE ESTIMATION OF VARIABLE SPEED MOTOR SYSTEMS

The present invention relates to an improved washer and dryer combination. The washer and dryer are in a side by side configuration that has the ability to transfer washed clothes from the washer to the dryer. The washer has a movable platform that can be tilted via hydraulic arms such that any clothes within the washers can slide down a chute that connects the interior spaces of the washer and dryer to one another. When clothes are not being transferred from the washer to dryer, the chute is covered by sliding doors. In addition, the device may use a mobile application that notifies a user of the various stages of the washing, drying, and transfer process have been completed.

OPTIMIZED DRYING CYCLE ACROSS A PAIR OF LAUNDRY APPLIANCES
20220364289 · 2022-11-17 ·

A method of operating a pair of laundry appliances is provided. The pair of laundry appliances includes a washing machine appliance and a dryer appliance. The method includes determining a first moisture extraction curve of a spin cycle of the washing machine appliance and determining a second moisture extraction curve of the dryer appliance. The method further includes rotating a basket of the washing machine appliance at an extraction speed for a predetermined period of time. The predetermined period of time is based on the first moisture extraction curve and the second moisture extraction curve.

Method for controlling washing machine

A method of controlling a washing machine that includes a drum rotatably provided in a tub that receives water, at least one nozzle spraying water into the drum, a washing motor rotating the drum, and a circulation pump circulating water within the washing machine, the method including: operating the washing motor to rotate the drum in a first rotational direction while repeatedly alternating between an acceleration and a deceleration of the drum so that laundry in the drum alternates between maintaining contact with an inner surface of the drum during acceleration, and separates from the inner surface of the drum during deceleration; and operating a circulation pump motor in the circulation pump, while the drum rotates in the first rotational direction, to accelerate a pump speed of the circulation pump during the acceleration of the drum, and to decelerate the pump speed during deceleration of the drum.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING GARMENT PROCESSING DEVICE
