The invention also relates to a method of increasing the balance of a drum rotating along its longitudinal axis within a washing machine, the method determining the unbalanced load of the laundry received by the drum, and moving a balancing weight in a direction between the lateral surface and the longitudinal axis of the drum.
Suspensionless laundry apparatuses and methods of balancing a laundry apparatus
A laundry apparatus includes an exterior housing, a tub, one or more tub mounts rigidly mounting the tub to the exterior housing, a drum positioned within the tub and rotatable relative to the tub, a control unit, a motor, one or more load imbalance sensors, and a dynamic balancing assembly. The motor is communicatively coupled to the control unit and operatively coupled to the drum. The one or more load imbalance sensors are communicatively coupled to the control unit and configured to output a load imbalance signal to the control unit, the load imbalance signal being indicative of a load imbalance within the drum. The dynamic balancing assembly is includes one or more counterweight devices configured to be orbited about the primary rotation axis to counteract a detected load imbalance in the drum. The tub is unsupported by any displaceable suspension members extending between the tub and the exterior housing.
Washing machine and method for controlling the same
A washing machine includes a washing tub configured to accommodate laundry therein, a motor configured to rotate the washing tub, and a controller. The controller is configured to: determine a laundry amount and a laundry-tangled degree by using a plurality of types of data that are measured while rotating the washing tub at a specific rotational speed; set an allowable unbalance (UB) value corresponding to the laundry amount and the laundry-tangled degree; determine a UB value based on rotating the washing tub during a dewatering stroke; and control the motor to stop rotating the washing tub based on the UB value exceeding the allowable UB value.
System and method for using sound to monitor the operation of a dryer appliance
A dryer appliance includes a microphone for monitoring sound generated during operation of the dryer appliance and a controller is operably coupled to the microphone. The controller is configured for obtaining a sound signal generated during operation of the dryer appliance and converting the sound signal into a spectrogram that represents a sound frequency and a sound amplitude over time. An artificial intelligence image recognition process is used to analyze the spectrogram to identify one or more sound signatures that are associated with particular operating conditions, and operation of the dryer appliance is adjusted based at least in part on the identification of the sound signature.
Method for setting a time of a release of a cleaning agent during a cleaning cycle in a household appliance
A method for setting a time of a release of a cleaning agent during a cleaning cycle in a household appliance includes obtaining an evolution over time of a local parameter inside the appliance, the local parameter comprising an acceleration induced by the cycle or a temperature inside the appliance; obtaining reference patterns of evolutions of the local parameter during a cycle comprising different cleaning steps including a step adapted for releasing the cleaning agent at a predetermined adapted time; comparing the evolution of the local parameter to the reference patterns and identifying a cleaning step within the cycle when a similarity between a reference pattern and the evolution is above a predetermined threshold, and setting the release of the agent at the predetermined adapted time within the identified cleaning step when the identified step corresponds to a step adapted for releasing the agent.
Electronic device and method for controlling thereof
Provided is an electronic device. The electronic device includes a motor, a memory configured to store at least one of first frequency information associated with a sound that is generated when the motor is driven or second frequency information associated with a surrounding environment of the electronic device, and a processor configured to control the motor to be driven by avoiding a driving speed corresponding to the frequency information stored in the memory.
WASHING MACHINE APPLIANCES AND METHODS FOR ADDRESSING OUT-OF-BALANCE STATES
A washing machine appliance may include a cabinet, a tub, a wash basket, and a controller. The tub may be positioned within the cabinet. The tub may define a tub outlet and a tub inlet. The wash basket may be rotatably mounted within the tub. The wash basket may define a chamber for receipt of articles for washing. The controller may be mounted to the cabinet and configured to initiate a washing operation. The washing operation may include flowing a volume of liquid to the tub, initiating a spin phase requiring rotation of the wash basket following flowing the volume of liquid to the tub, determining an out-of-balance (OOB) state within the wash basket, determining a user OOB preference following determining the OOB state, and adjusting the spin phase according to the determined user OOB preference.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING GARMENT PROCESSING DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a method for controlling a garment processing device, the method comprising: a foreign-material separating step of rotating a drum rotatably provided inside a tub that stores water such that friction occurs between garments inside the drum and the water; a drain step of discharging the water inside the tub to the outside of the tub; a first maintenance step of maintaining the rate of rotation of the drum, after same has reached a preconfigured first rate, at the first rate; a first measurement step of measuring the degree of imbalance occurring in the drum while the drum rotates at the first rate; a second maintenance step of increasing the rate of rotation of the drum to a predetermined second rate, if a first measured value measured in the first measurement step is equal to/below a preconfigured first reference value, and then maintaining same at the second rate; a second measurement step of measuring the degree of imbalance occurring in the drum while the drum rotates at the second rate; stopping the drum from rotating if a second measured value measured in the second measurement step is equal to/below a preconfigured second reference value; and a dewatering step of accelerating the drum to a third rate configured to be higher than the second rate, thereby removing water from the garments.
