Method of controlling laundry treating apparatus
Disclosed herein is a method of controlling a laundry treating apparatus, if a user selects a uniform course, including performing a preheating operation of a heater to generate steam, performing a first cooling operation to operate a blower unit and a moving hanger after the preheating operation has been terminated, performing a steam operation to operate the blower unit and a steam unit and to circulate steam to a treating chamber after the first cooling operation has been terminated, performing a standby operation to operate the blower unit after the steam operation has been terminated, performing a second cooling operation to operate the blower unit after the standby operation has been terminated, and performing a drying operation to operate the blower unit and a heat pump unit and to provide heat to the treating chamber to dry the treating chamber after the second cooling operation has been terminated.
Washing machine and method for controlling same
Provided are a washing machine in which an auxiliary door can be safely and conveniently used and a method of controlling the same. The auxiliary door through which laundry can be additionally put into the washing machine, and the auxiliary door can be safely locked/unlocked. Because an open/closed state of the auxiliary door can be indirectly determined through a locking/unlocking operation of the auxiliary door, even when a door opening/closing detecting device has broken down, the auxiliary door can be safely used. The auxiliary door is unlocked by default and conditions on which the auxiliary door is locked for safety if necessary, are minimized during an operation of the washing machine so that use convenience of the auxiliary door can be enhanced, and a locked state of the auxiliary door is maintained according to the amount of laundry so that the laundry can be safely put into the washing machine.
CLOTHES DRYER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
A clothes dryer comprises a drum, a weight detection sensor, a moisture content detection sensor, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine a category for the drying item among a plurality of categories based on the weight of the drying item detected by the weight detection sensor and the residual moisture content information about the drying item obtained by the moisture content detection sensor at a first predetermined time after an initial drying cycle is initiated according to an initial control condition, monitor a reduction state in the residual moisture content information about the drying item obtained by the a moisture content detection circuit based on a reference time and a moisture content threshold defined corresponding to the determined category to determine a drying level for the drying item, and then initiate a main drying cycle according to the control condition corresponding to the determined drying level.
LAUNDRY TREATING APPLIANCE HAVING SENSORS, AND METHODS OF OPERATION
A laundry treating appliance for treating laundry according to an automatic cycle of operation includes a cabinet defining a cabinet interior. A drum is rotatable within the cabinet interior, and at least partially defines a treating chamber. The treating chamber has a treating chamber air inlet and a treating chamber air outlet. A drying air circuit is fluidly coupled to the treating chamber air inlet and to the treating chamber air outlet. The laundry treating appliance can include first and second air temperature sensors, at least a first humidity sensor, and a controller operably coupled with the sensors.
DRYER AIRFLOW CALIBRATION AND ALERTS
Detection of airflow conditions, such as blockage issues, in a dryer laundry appliance is provided. A current or instant calibration is performed utilizing an airflow model to infer, based on current or instant sensor data from sensors of the dryer laundry appliance, an estimated airflow for an exhaust air conduit of the dryer laundry appliance. The estimated airflow is compared to a baseline airflow previously inferred by the airflow model during a baseline calibration using previous sensor data from the sensors of the dryer laundry appliance. An alert is provided responsive to the estimated airflow being below a threshold level relative to the baseline airflow.
DRYER APPLIANCE LOAD DETECTION
A method of operating a dryer appliance includes activating a heating system of the dryer appliance and tracking an energy output of the heating system. The method also includes determining a load score of a load of articles to be dried in the dryer appliance based on the tracked energy output and determining a termination criterion for a dry operation of the dryer appliance based on the load score. The method further includes performing the dry operation in the dryer appliance and terminating the dry operation when the determined termination criterion is reached.
Laundry treating apparatus
A laundry treating apparatus may comprise a cabinet that defines an exterior design; a drum rotatably mounted in the cabinet and configured to accommodate laundry; a drive unit or motor configured to rotate the drum; a hot air supply unit or hot air blower configured to supply high-temperature air to the drum and in communication with the drum; a collection portion or liquid chamber provided to collect water condensed from the drum and in communication with the hot air supply unit; and a drainage pump configured to discharge the water collected in the collection portion outside the cabinet such that the laundry treating apparatus may sense whether the condensate collected in the collection portion is frozen and thaw the frozen condensate. A control method of the laundry treating apparatus may be provided to thaw and operate the laundry treating apparatus.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SETTING PARAMETERS OF A TREATMENT CYCLE
A method and system for setting parameters of a treatment cycle in a household appliance is provided. First a model establishing a relationship between sets of configuration parameter values of achievable treatment performance is obtained. Then a target treatment performance for the treatment cycle is obtained. Values for a subset of a configuration parameter are fixed, the subset comprising at most all configuration parameters but a remaining configuration parameter. Then, a value for the remaining configuration parameter is determined. For this value, a difference between the target treatment performance and an achievable treatment performance predicted by the model using said value is below a predetermined threshold. Finally, the parameters of the treatment cycle, which can be setting parameters of the treatment cycle in the household appliance are output. The parameters comprise the determined value and the fixed values.
