Fault detection for a water level detection system of a washing machine appliance
A washing machine appliance includes a sump for collecting wash fluid, a water supply valve for supplying the wash fluid during a fill cycle, and a water level detection system including a pressure sensor for measuring sump pressures/fill levels. A controller is configured for operating the supply valve to fill the sump until a target volume is reached and obtaining a fill volume using the water level detection system. The controller determines that a fault condition exists based on a difference between the target volume and the fill volume, e.g., such as when the difference exceeds a predetermined fault threshold, and initiates a fault abatement process in response to determining that the fault condition exists.

Washing machine and method for controlling same
Provided are a washing machine in which an auxiliary door can be safely and conveniently used and a method of controlling the same. The auxiliary door through which laundry can be additionally put into the washing machine, and the auxiliary door can be safely locked/unlocked. Because an open/closed state of the auxiliary door can be indirectly determined through a locking/unlocking operation of the auxiliary door, even when a door opening/closing detecting device has broken down, the auxiliary door can be safely used. The auxiliary door is unlocked by default and conditions on which the auxiliary door is locked for safety if necessary, are minimized during an operation of the washing machine so that use convenience of the auxiliary door can be enhanced, and a locked state of the auxiliary door is maintained according to the amount of laundry so that the laundry can be safely put into the washing machine.
METHOD FOR REAL TIME DETERMINATION DURING LOADING OF VOLUMETRIC LOAD SIZE IN A LAUNDRY TREATING APPLIANCE
A method of operating and a laundry treating appliance, including a rotatable drum at least partially defining a treating chamber into which laundry may be placed for treatment according to a cycle of operation, a processor programmed to at least as the laundry is being placed in the treating chamber, at least one of measure, sense, analytically determine, estimate, or receive as an input a first load size of the laundry in the treating chamber to define a determined first load size and select at least one of a color or an intensity corresponding to the determined first load size to define a first light setting.
LIQUID OUT-OF-PRODUCT ALARM SYSTEM AND METHOD
An out-of-product alarm process includes initiating an out-of-product check by sending a signal to a controller from an optical sensor assembly connected to a fluid delivery medium for delivering a product to a fluid dispensing site, performing an out-of-product check, running an alarm cycle with the controller after receipt of an out-of-product signal, and executing a corrective action. Performing the out-of-product check includes directing light into the fluid delivery medium, generating a detector output based on detected light within the fluid delivery medium, determining an out-of-product state within the fluid delivery medium based on a comparison of the detector output to an out-of-product threshold, starting an out-of-product timer, when the out-of-product state is determined, and determining an out-of-product event when the out-of-product timer reaches a threshold out-of-product time period.
Laundry treating apparatus and method of indicating operational information for a bulk dispensing system
A laundry treating appliance having a trating chamber and a bulk dispenser and a user interface configured to provide an indication to the user related to the bulk chemistry dispenser and a controller coupled with the user interface and the bulk treating chemistry dispenser and configured to execute an operating cycle including controlling the treating chemistry meter to dispense the predetermined amount of treating chemistry and determine a number of doses of treating chemistry available in the bulk treating chemistry dispenser and method of determining the number of doses and the types of a treating chemistry available in the bulk dispensing system, and providing an indication of the determination on a user interface.

Ozone injection systems
An ozone laundry system that injects ozone into the chemical injection system in order to allow the system to inject ozone as other cleaning chemicals are injected into the washer. This allows ozone to be injected through the wash cycle rather than just during the initial fill phase and additional avoids the expense and maintenance of adding ozone recirculation plumping to an ozone laundry system. Accordingly, ozone levels may be maintained at superior levels throughout the wash cycle.
HOME APPLIANCE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
Proposed is a home appliance that includes a cabinet defining an exterior of the home appliance; a reception space defined inside the cabinet and configured to receive objects in the reception space; a door configured to open/close an open surface of the reception space, the door having a viewing window provided at the door; a lamp configured to illuminate an inside of the reception space; a sensor assembly configured to output a knock-on signal based on detecting a user's knock; and a controller configured to turn on/off the lamp based on the knock-on signal output by the sensor assembly, wherein based on a present state of the home appliance corresponding to at least any one of a plurality of preset exceptional situations, the controller is configured to not turn on/off the lamp regardless of the knock-on signal being output.
HOME APPLIANCE PROVIDED WITH VIEWING WINDOW
Proposed is a home appliance in which a reception space defined in the home appliance can be seen from the outside without opening a door through a viewing window. In the home appliance, the viewing window is mounted to the door, and when a user knocks on the door, a knock input by the user is detected and the inside of the reception space is illuminated such that the inside of the reception space can be seen from the outside through the viewing window. Accordingly, a user can see the inside of the reception space by a simple motion without opening the door.
