A method of applying a touch film to a rigid surface having a compound curvature includes applying a transparent pressure sensitive adhesive to a facing surface of a touch film, placing the facing surface against the rigid surface, and rolling a roller over the touch film with enough pressure to activate the pressure sensitive adhesive and adhere the touch film to the rigid surface. The roller has an exterior layer of low durometer material to conform to the compound curvature of the rigid surface and to minimize damage to components on the touch film.

In a laundry treating apparatus, flat surfaces are installed at both sides of a tub for storing water therein, so that a spacing between each of the both sides of the tub and each side of a cabinet is smaller than a spacing between a lower surface of the tub and a bottom of the cabinet. The control panel is inserted between the first front panel and the second front panel, and is fixed by sliding in a lateral direction.

Disclosed is a laundry treating apparatus. A laundry treating apparatus includes a cabinet including a front panel having a detergent opening defined therein; a tub disposed inside the cabinet; a drum rotatably disposed inside the tub; and a detergent storage unit retracting into the cabinet through the detergent opening. A detergent to be supplied to the drum is stored in the detergent storage unit. The front panel has an opening extension portion extending from a periphery of the detergent opening toward an inside of the cabinet. The apparatus further includes a protective casing disposed inside the cabinet and coupled to the opening extension portion. The protective casing surrounds at least a portion of the detergent storage unit retracting into the cabinet through the detergent opening. The protective casing includes an opening protection wall constructed to cover an inner face of the opening extension portion facing toward the detergent opening to protect the opening extension portion.

A laundry treating apparatus includes a cabinet including a front panel having a detergent opening defined therein; a tub disposed inside the cabinet; a drum rotatably disposed inside the tub; and a detergent storage unit retracting into the cabinet through the detergent opening. A detergent to be supplied to the drum is stored in the detergent storage unit. The front panel has an opening extension portion extending from a periphery of the detergent opening toward an inside of the cabinet. The apparatus further includes a protective casing disposed inside the cabinet and coupled to the opening extension portion. The protective casing surrounds at least a portion of the detergent storage unit retracting into the cabinet through the detergent opening. The protective casing includes an opening protection wall constructed to cover an inner face of the opening extension portion facing toward the detergent opening to protect the opening extension portion.

A consumer appliance or touch panel interface, as provided herein, may include a substrate panel, a flexible capacitance touch circuit, a deformable conductive joint, and a rigid circuit board. The flexible capacitance touch circuit may be joined to the substrate panel. The deformable conductive joint may extend from a first end to a second end. The first end may be bonded to the flexible capacitance touch circuit. The rigid circuit board may be bonded to the deformable conductive joint at the second end, the rigid circuit board being positioned behind the substrate panel along the axial direction.

A laundry treating apparatus includes: a cabinet; a drum; a driver rotating the drum; a control panel including a manipulation portion receiving a selection command for selecting a course or an option triggering an operation of the driver, a display portion displaying state information including at least one of a name, a selected state, or an executed state of the course or the option, and a setting portion disposed at an outside of the manipulation portion and the display portion and receiving a change command to change the option; a communication module communicating with a home appliance; and a switch disposed at the cabinet and receiving a connection command that causes the communication module to communicate with the home appliance, where the setting portion is deactivated, based on the switch receiving an input, to thereby restrict at least a part of the setting portion from receiving the change command.

A laundry treating apparatus includes: a cabinet; a drum; a driver rotating the drum; a control panel including a manipulation portion receiving a selection command for selecting a course or an option triggering an operation of the driver, a display portion displaying state information including at least one of a name, a selected state, or an executed state of the course or the option, and a setting portion disposed at an outside of the manipulation portion and the display portion and receiving a change command to change the option; a communication module communicating with a home appliance; and a switch disposed at the cabinet and receiving a connection command that causes the communication module to communicate with the home appliance, where the setting portion is deactivated, based on the switch receiving an input, to thereby restrict at least a part of the setting portion from receiving the change command.
