The drum washing machine of the present invention includes a drum, which has a substantially bottomed cylindrical shape and has an opening on a front surface; a rotating shaft, attached to a back surface of the drum; and a bearing rotatably supporting the rotating shaft. The bearing is a multiple-row tapered roller bearing.

REINFORCING CAP FOR A TUB REAR WALL OF AN APPLIANCE

A laundry appliance includes a tub having a rear wall that includes a plurality of structural ribs. A drive hub has a bearing housing insert injection molded into the rear wall. A stator is attached to the drive hub at stator fastening portions exposed through the rear wall of the tub. A reinforcing cap is fixed to the structural ribs of the rear wall of the tub. The bearing housing of the drive hub extends rearwards through a portion of the reinforcing cap. The stator fastening portions are exposed through the reinforcing cap.

OVERMOLDED BASKET BASE ASSEMBLY

A hub for an overmolded basket base assembly of a laundry appliance is provided. The hub includes a central core defining an opening along an axis configured to receive a drive shaft. The hub further includes a disc, extending radially outwardly from the core about the axis, the disc configured to be overmolded in polymeric material that forms an overmolded plastic base, the disc including a plurality of posts arranged around the core and extending upward from a top surface of the disc to form a circumferentially-extending array to align the hub when applying torque to the hub.

STRUCTURED GEOMETRY FOR A TUB REAR WALL OF A LAUNDRY APPLIANCE

A tub for a laundry appliance, includes a rear wall having a bearing hub for receiving a drive shaft. A plurality of inner radial walls extend from the bearing hub to a convergence wall. A circumferential wall extends concentrically about the bearing hub to engage one of the inner radial walls and the convergence wall. A plurality of outer diverging walls extends from the convergence wall to an outer edge of the rear wall.

SEALING DEVICE FOR SLEEVES OF WASHING MACHINES

A sealing device for a sleeve of washing machines, provided internally with bearing units. The device is provided with a stationary first annular screen which integrally carries a first elastomeric element, a second annular rotating screen which integrally carries a second elastomeric element. The first and the second elastomeric elements face each other defining a first annular meatus (M), and a plurality of pairs of annular sealing lips (L1, L2) arranged inside the first annular meatus (M). The first sealing lip (L1) and the second sealing lip (L2) of the plurality of pairs of annular sealing lips (L1, L2) are substantially radially and axially superimposed and have predetermined axial dimensions to be radially and axially separated from each other and to define, inside the first annular meatus (M) and with the first and second sealing lips of the other pairs of annular sealing lips (L1, L2), a tortuous labyrinth (L).

SEALING DEVICE FOR WASHING MACHINE SLEEVES

A sealing device for a sleeve of washing machines, comprising a first, stationary, annular screen, and a second, rotatable, annular screen. The first annular screen includes a first cylindrical mounting portion and a first flange portion; and the second annular screen includes a second cylindrical mounting portion and a second flange portion. The sealing device is characterized in that both the first and the second annular screens include the same number of non-contacting sealing lips, which are similar to each other and contained axially between the first and second flange portions, in radially alternating positions axially arranged one above the other, so as to define a sealing labyrinth (L). The first and second annular screens define between them a discharge chamber (C1) and an obstruction chamber (C2) which are arranged along the sealing labyrinth (L), substantially at opposite ends of the said sealing labyrinth (L).

WASHING MACHINE BELT PULLEY MADE OF A PLASTIC MATERIAL

A belt pulley of a washing machine drum made of a plastic material, comprising a hub, a circumference of the belt pulley to receive a belt, a substantially circular dividing rib dividing the belt pulley to the inner and outer concentric section with a plurality of reinforcing ribs, wherein the dividing rib is arranged on a line of a polygon having the centre in the belt pulley axis and exhibiting corners, into which, from a side facing the hub, a portion of the outermost ribs lead, said ribs being part of a plurality of reinforcing ribs of the inner section, wherein at least a portion of these ribs leading into the corners of the dividing rib run, extend along a line of polygons, preferably hexagons, which are radially arranged in the inner section and in contact with each other along one of their sides, wherein, from at least one said corner of the dividing rib on the side facing the outer circumference, at least one arc-shaped rib of the outer section originates, and its free end contacts the outer circumference of the belt pulley.
