A clothes dryer includes a cabinet having a front surface with an opening in the front surface; a drum inside the cabinet and configured so that objects to be dried are insertable through the opening to be received in the drum; a heat exchanger; and a door to open and close the opening, and including a ventilation member, wherein the door is configured so that, with the door being in an open state, the ventilation member covers at least a portion of the opening so that the ventilation member prevents objects in the drum from moving through the opening, air passing through the heat exchanger is discharged from the drum, through the ventilation member and the opening, to an outside of the cabinet, and outside air is supplied through the ventilation member and the opening to the heat exchanger.

A dryer includes a main body; a drum in the main body, the drum being rotatable and configured to receive an object to be dried by the dryer; a driving motor configured to rotate the drum; an input module configured to receive a command to perform a dry mode or a dehumidification mode from a user; a heat exchanger in the main body; and a controller configured to: in response to receiving the command to perform the dry mode, control the driving motor to rotate the drum at a first rotation speed, and in response to receiving the command to perform the dehumidification mode, control the driving motor to rotate the drum at a second rotation speed different from the first rotation speed.

A camera assembly is mounted within the tub for taking images of the load of clothes and a controller is operably coupled to the camera assembly for determining that a limited access mode is activated, receiving a start command for an operating cycle, obtaining and transmitting images or a live stream of the chamber to a remote device, and receiving user input related to a responsive action, such as a cycle authorization or operating parameter adjustment.

A dryer appliance and a method of operating the same are provided. In one aspect, the dryer appliance includes a drum rotatably mounted within a cabinet. The drum defines a chamber that is in fluid communication with a conditioning system of the dryer appliance that circulates heated air through the chamber. A controller is configured to receive a command to initiate an appliance travel cycle and implement a responsive action to prepare the dryer appliance for travel. The responsive action may be the automated adjustment of one or more operating parameters of the dryer appliance, such as performing a load sensing procedure, drying the chamber, closing the water supply valves, etc. In addition, the responsive action may include providing a user instruction to prepare the dryer appliance, e.g., by cleaning the lint filter, emptying the condensate collection tank, removing hoses and cables, addressing any error codes, etc.
