ROLLER APPARATUS
A roller apparatus (10) for treating at least one web (34) passing through the apparatus (10), the apparatus comprising a pattern roller (12) in the form of a first cylindrical body (14) mounted for rotation around an elongate axis (A) of the first cylindrical body (14), and an anvil roller (16) in the form of a second cylindrical body (18) mounted for rotation around an elongate axis (B) of the second cylindrical body (18).
The pattern and anvil rollers (12,16) are located adjacent each other to define a nip (22) between outer cylindrical surfaces (14a,18a) of the first and second cylindrical bodies (14,18). The first and second cylindrical bodies (14,18) are configured to rotate, in use, in opposite directions to each other so as to draw the at least one web (34) through the nip (12) defined between the outer cylindrical surfaces (14a,18a) of the first and second cylindrical bodies (14,18).
The outer cylindrical surface (14a) of the first cylindrical body (14) defines a raised profile section (24) having a predetermined shape that extends both widthwise and circumferentially of the first cylindrical body (14).
The pattern roller (12) incorporates an elongate cartridge heater (26) extending widthwise along the elongate axis (A) of the first cylindrical body (14). The cartridge heater (26) defines at least two outer zones (26a,26c) located widthwise on opposite sides of a centrally located middle zone (26b). The cartridge heater (26) is configured to generate, in use, more heat in the outer zones (26a,26c) than in the middle zone (26b).

METHOD FOR TREATING LAUNDRY ITEMS
Used laundry items are delivered unsorted to laundries. It has previously been usual to initially sort the laundry items after delivery and treat the sorted laundry items, at least by washing, drying, mangling and folding. The preliminary sorting is labor-intensive and time-consuming. The invention proposes to treat unsorted at least those laundry items which must be mangled. Only before folding are the still unsorted laundry items identified and folded in targeted fashion accordingly. After folding, the identified laundry items are sorted according to their identified criteria, in that folded laundry items with the same criteria are stacked on a respective stack of similarly treated and folded laundry items. This reduces the complexity of sorting laundry items.

Device for mangling laundry items
Providing a boiler in the interior of the mangle body, for heating up a gas in particular by an infrared radiant heater, which heats up a heat transfer medium in the cavity of a double-walled shell of the mangle body. The pressing surface of the mangle body can be heated up effectively and in a targeted manner by this heat transfer medium in the cavity of the double-walled shell of the mangle. Belt mangles are known, in the case of which a circumferentially driven mangling belt runs along the outside of the stationary mangle body, which mangling belt transports the laundry items to be mangled on the smooth pressing surface of the mangle body by entrainment. The heating of the pressing surface has been shown to be ineffective in the case of these known belt mangles.
Cloth spreading apparatus
A cloth spreading apparatus is capable of eliminating the troublesome work of pulling a cloth when the cloth is held by feeding chucks to reduce burden of the worker and operation time. A cloth spreading apparatus includes a pair of feeding chucks grasping adjacent corners of a cloth, a moving device for moving the pair of feeding chucks between a feeding position and a delivery position of the cloth to draw the cloth, and spreading chucks for receiving the cloth directly or indirectly from the pair of feeding chucks and spreading the cloth in a direction of separating the adjacent corners from each other. The moving device has separate moving trajectories corresponding to the respective feeding chucks so that the pair of feeding chucks can move between the feeding position and the delivery position independently of each other.
