This invention allows that the flow of pressurized water from the chamber to the steam generator is more purposively controlled so that a given desired steam profile can be generated.
IRONING SYSTEM WITH WATER DELIVERY MECHANISM
The invention relates to an ironing system (20) comprising a steam iron (200) and a base unit (250) adapted to cooperate with each other such that the steam iron (200) can take a first position (P1) in which the steam iron (200) is docked on the base unit (250), and a second position (P2) in which the steam iron (200) is undocked from the base unit (250). The steam iron (200) is cordlessly detached from the base unit (250) in the second position (P2). The steam iron (200) comprises a water reservoir (201) arranged to store water, and a soleplate (202) for generating steam from water in the water reservoir (201) when the steam iron (200) is in the second position (P2). The base unit (250) comprises a water delivery mechanism (251) for supplying water to the water reservoir (201) when the steam iron (200) is in the first position (PI), and a power supply unit (252) for supplying energy to the soleplate (202) when the steam iron (200) is in the first position (P1), for heating the soleplate (202). The ironing system (20) further comprises a temperature sensor (203) for sensing temperature of the soleplate (202), a controller (253) for determining, based on a variation of temperature of the soleplate, an amount of water to be supplied to the water reservoir (201) by the water delivery mechanism (251). This solution allows an improved water fill-in of the water reservoir.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CHARGING BASE STATION FOR DC CARPET SEAMING IRON
A battery powered carpet seaming iron system includes a battery powered carpet seaming iron, a base station for receiving the battery powered carpet seaming iron, and a releasable battery pack attached to the carpet seaming iron. Power is supplied to the battery powered carpet seaming iron from either of the base station or the battery pack. The base station receives AC power from an external source and supplies power to operate the battery powered carpet seaming iron, and to charge the batteries of the battery pack. Charging power from the base station is received at the battery powered carpet seaming iron and is transmitted by the carpet seaming iron to the battery pack. The battery pack supplies power to the seaming iron for operation of the seaming iron when the seaming iron is removed from the base station.
Steam iron with pressurized water reservoir
The present application relates to a steam iron (1) for treating garments, comprising a heel (2) to rest the steam iron (1) on a supporting surface (S) when the steam iron (1) is not treating garments, a pressurization unit (3) having a chamber (4) comprising a water inlet (5) for receiving water and a water outlet (6). The pressurization unit (3) is adapted so that, in a rest position (PI) where the heel (2) is placed on the supporting surface (S), it generates an air vacuum in the chamber (4) to draw water into the chamber (4) via the water inlet (5) and, in a lifted position (P2) where the heel (2) is not placed on the supporting surface (S), pressurizes the water drawn in the chamber (4). The steam iron also comprises a steam engine (7) for generating steam from water towards the garments and a water output channel (8) for carrying water under pressure from the water outlet (6) to the steam engine (7). This invention allows easily pressurizing the water in the chamber for in turn increasing the steam generation.
SYSTEM TO PRESSURIZE WATERIN A GARMENT CARE DEVICE
The invention relates to a system (1) for a garment care device (20, 25) comprising a steam generator (7). The system (1) comprises a pressurization unit (2). The pressurization unit (2) comprises a chamber (3) for receiving water from a water supply system (5) and for delivering the received water towards the steam generator (7), and an actuator (8) cooperating with a retention member (9). The actuator (8) is adapted to displace and load the retention member (9) when water is received in the chamber (3). The retention member (9) is adapted to unload and apply a force to the actuator (8) after water has been received in the chamber (3) to pressurise water received in the chamber (3). The retention member (9) has a stiffness coefficient that varies as a function of displacement of the actuator (8). This invention allows that the flow of pressurized water from the chamber to the steam generator is more purposively controlled so that a given desired steam profile can be generated.
