The present invention relates to an apparatus of manufacturing an aerogel sheet. The apparatus of manufacturing the aerogel sheet includes: a plurality of fixing vessels into which a fiber sheet is inserted; and an impregnation vessels provided with an accommodation part in which the plurality of fixing vessels are stacked in multistage and a silica precursor injection part which injects a silica precursor into the accommodation part to impregnate the silica precursor into the fiber sheet inserted into each of the fixing vessels.
ANTI-FRAY FORMULATION FOR ARAMID YARNS
A textile formulation for treating woven fabrics formed from aramid filament yarns that results in a resistance to the unraveling, fraying, and slipping of seams typical of fabrics formed from filament yarns is disclosed. This anti-fray formulation includes colloidal silica, polyurethane dispersion, and phosphonate combined to form a chemical bath in which the woven fabric may be dipped. This formulation adds 2%-5% to the dry weight of the woven fabric, and does not impact the beneficial properties of fabrics formed from filament yarns such as structural stability or flame retardancy, but does create a fabric that is more resistant to the unraveling, fraying, and slipping of seams. A method of creating a textile formed from aramid filament yarns exposed to an anti-fray formulation including colloidal silica, polyurethane dispersion, and phosphonate that does not impact the beneficial properties of fabrics formed from filament yarns such as structural stability or flame retardancy, but does create a fabric that is more resistant to the unraveling, fraying, and slipping of seams, is also provided.

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an aerogel sheet and comprises: a step (a) of impregnating an acid solution into a fiber sheet to clean the fiber sheet by using the acid solution and impregnating a binder solution into the fiber sheet that is cleaned by using the acid solution to manufacture a pre-processed fiber sheet; a step (b) of impregnating a silica precursor into the pre-processed fiber sheet; and a step (c) of a gelling catalyst into the fiber sheet into which the silica precursor is impregnated to gelate the silica precursor.

PROCESS FOR GAS PHASE SURFACE TREATMENT
A gas phase surface treatment for treating carbon fiber including (a) exposing a carbon fiber to a gaseous oxidizing atmosphere to form a modified carbon fiber with an oxidized fiber surface; followed by (b) exposing the oxidized fiber surface to a gaseous nitrogen-containing atmosphere to form a modified carbon fiber with a nitrogen-enriched surface, wherein the nitrogen-enriched surface exhibits an increase in surface nitrogen to surface carbon (N/C) ratio as compared to the surface of the carbon fiber prior to exposure at (a). Steps (a) and (b) are carried out continuously without any additional intervening surface treatment.
Process for gas phase surface treatment
A gas phase surface treatment for treating carbon fiber including (a) exposing a carbon fiber to a gaseous oxidizing atmosphere to form a modified carbon fiber with an oxidized fiber surface; followed by (b) exposing the oxidized fiber surface to a gaseous nitrogen-containing atmosphere to form a modified carbon fiber with a nitrogen-enriched surface, wherein the nitrogen-enriched surface exhibits an increase in surface nitrogen to surface carbon (N/C) ratio as compared to the surface of the carbon fiber prior to exposure at (a). Steps (a) and (b) are carried out continuously without any additional intervening surface treatment.
