FIRE RESISTANT COATED POLYESTER MINE GRID AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING IT
The invention is drawn to a method of making a fire-resistant mine-grid comprising the following steps: providing a poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) plastisol, providing a polyester yarn mesh fabric, coating the polyester yarn mesh fabric with the PVC plastisol, heating the coated fabric for about 5 to 20 minutes, more preferably for about 5 to 15 minutes, to a temperature comprised between 110° C. and 150° C., so as to effect gelatinization of the PVC plastisol and form a plasticized PVC coating enveloping the polyester yarns of the mesh fabric,
wherein the PVC plastisol, comprises (a) a poly(vinyl chloride) base resin, (b) from 60 to 140 phr of a primary plasticizer which is tris-(2-chloro-isopropyl)phosphate (TCPP), (c) from 40 to 140 phr of a secondary plasticizer, (d) from 145 to 230 phr of an inorganic filler.
FLAME RETARDANT YARN
The flame retardant yarn of the present invention is made by blending flame retardant viscose fiber and at least one high tenacity flame retarding fiber, the at least one high tenacity flame retarding fiber is flame retardant polyester or flame retardant finishing viscose fiber, wherein the flame retardant viscose fiber is 40˜90% by weight of the flame retardant yarn. The flame retardant yarn takes advantage of the superior flame retardance of the flame retardant viscose fiber, and takes the flame retardant viscose fiber to blend with other good tenacity and spinnability fiber by adjusting amount of raw materials in reasonable balance and avoiding disadvantages of the raw materials to optimize advantages of the flame retardant viscose fiber such as flame retardancy and tenacity so as to provide the flame retardant viscose fiber with high flame retardancy, long lasting flame retardancy effect, strength and elongation performance and good abrasion resistance. Fabric made by the flame retardant yarn not only has good flame retardancy, but also has good elasticity due to high tenacity of the flame retardant yarn.

The present invention teaches an antimony free brominated flame retardant composition, comprising a brominated flame retardant, an organic phosphorus-containing flame retardant which is an organic phosphate that is either an amorphous solid or a liquid, and a flame retardant which is a source of nitrogen and inorganic phosphorus, this source being amorphous compound. The invention further teaches textile coating formulations comprising these compositions, a process for applying them on textile fabrics, and the flame retarded fabrics coated by these compositions and formulations.
