A sleeve for protecting an elongate member, including a bus-bar of a battery pack, and method of construction thereof are provided. The sleeve includes a knit wall having a circumferentially continuous outer surface extending along a longitudinal axis between opposite open ends. The knit wall is formed at least in part by multifilament flame-resistant yarn. The multifilament flame-resistant yarn is knit to form both the knit wall, and also first ribs extending lengthwise along the circumferentially continuous outer surface or second ribs extending annularly about said circumferentially continuous outer surface. An impervious, flame-resistant coating is bonded to an outer surface of the circumferentially continuous knit wall.

The glass fiber-reinforced resin molded article includes a glass fiber fabric and a transparent resin. The average resin unimpregnation ratio in proximity to filament of the glass fiber fabric is more than 2.0% and 50.0% or less, the warp yarn width Bt and the weft yarn width By of the glass fiber fabric each are from 0.50 to 8.50 mm, the warp yarn weaving density Wt and the weft yarn weaving density Wy of the glass fiber fabric each are from 3.0 to 50 yarns/25 mm, and the degree of widening of warp yarn Et and the degree of widening of weft yarn Ey of the glass fiber fabric each are from 0.70 to 1.10.
Personal armor resistant to sharp or pointed weaponry
According to exemplary inventive practice, a personal armor system includes a textile-based layer not exceeding ½-half-inch thickness, and an elastomeric coating not exceeding ⅛-inch thickness. The textile-based layer includes a fiber reinforcement and a resin binder. The combined areal density of the textile-based layer and the elastomeric coating does not exceed 2.5 psf. According to a first mode of inventive practice, the elastomeric coating is essentially a strain-rate-sensitivity-hardening elastomer, and the areal density of the textile-based layer does not exceed 2.3 psf. According to a second mode of inventive practice, the elastomeric coating is essentially a microparticle-filled strain-rate-sensitivity-hardening elastomeric matrix material, and the areal density of the textile-based layer does not exceed 1.7 psf. The microparticles (e.g., spherical glass microparticles) do not exceed, by weight, 30 percent of the strain-rate-sensitivity-hardening elastomeric matrix material. The textile-based layer affords ballistic protection; the elastomeric coating affords protection against sharp/pointed objects.
GLASS FIBER-REINFORCED RESIN MOLDED ARTICLE, HOUSING OF ELECTRONIC DEVICE, INTERIOR COMPONENT FOR MOBILITY PRODUCT AND EXTERIOR COMPONENT FOR MOBILITY PRODUCT
SURFACE-TREATED GLASS CLOTH, PREPREG, AND PRINTED WIRING BOARD
Provided are a surface-treated glass cloth that enables the reliability of a printed wiring board to be improved, a prepreg, and a printed wiring board. In the surface-treated glass cloth, a surface-treated layer contains a silane coupling agent, the amount of carbon attached of an adhering component of the surface-treated layer is in the range of 0.030 to 0.060% by mass, the arithmetic average height of the surface of the adhering component of the surface-treated layer is in the range of 1.0 to 3.0 nm, and the product of the amount of carbon attached of the adhering component and the arithmetic average height of the surface of the adhering component is in the range of 0.060 to 0.100.
Carrier material for vinyl floor covering
A carrier material for vinyl floor covering, wherein the carrier material includes a nonwoven layer containing at least 50 wt. % of thermoplastic fibers and a scrim for eliminating wrinkles in the vinyl floor covering. The scrim includes weft yarns having a linear density of 28 tex or less. The carrier material prevents the formation of surface irregularities and printing errors in the vinyl floor covering.
REINFORCED POLYMERIC NONWOVEN MAT FOR CARPET TILES
A carpet tile includes a textile top member and a carrier mat that is coupled with the textile top member via a thermoplastic material. The textile top member includes carpet yarns and a backing that is coupled with the carpet yarns so that the backing structurally supports the carpet yarns. The carrier mat includes a polymeric material component, a reinforcement, and a binder that is uniformly distributed throughout the polymeric material component and reinforcement component. The polymeric material component includes polymer fibers that are randomly oriented and entangled together. The reinforcement is disposed within the polymeric material component so that the reinforcement is entirely covered and concealed by the entangled polymer fibers to prevent exposure to a user. The reinforcement mechanically reinforces and stabilizes the polymeric material component and carpet tile.
Low weight modular carpet components and methods of making the same
A low-weight carpet tile and process for making the same, wherein the carpet tile comprises a facecloth having a plurality of face yarns tufted through a primary backing, an extruded polymer secondary backing layer, and a reinforcing scrim layer partially embedded within the extruded polymer secondary backing layer. The top surface and bottom surface of the carpet tile are defined by the facecloth and the reinforcing scrim layer, respectively. A polymer-based resin is extruded onto the facecloth to form an at least substantially uniform secondary backing layer, and the reinforcing scrim layer is laid onto the extruded polymer secondary backing layer while the extruded polymer secondary backing layer remains above a softening temperature for the resin. The entire multi-layer web is then passed through a nip to embed the reinforcing scrim layer into the extruded polymer secondary layer, and the entire web is chilled.
