PORTABLE DRY RECREATIONAL SLIDE
A portable dry recreational slide is configured to be easily carried by a single person when in a compacted state and expanded into a deployed state in a remote location as desired. The dry recreational slide, when deployed, is elongated and includes a low-friction sliding surface upon which a rider may slide without application of water, oil, soap or any other temporary lubricant. The dry slide comprises a slide body having a lightweight, flexible substrate coated with a low-friction material.
FOAM NODES FOR CREATING STAND OFF ON APPAREL ITEMS
Aspects herein relate to apparel items and apparel systems that utilize applied or printed foam nodes to provide, among other things, stand-off between an apparel item and a wearer's skin surface. One or more of the foam nodes, or areas of the textile surrounding the foam nodes, may be perforated to provide a fluid communication path between an inner-facing surface and an outer-facing surface of the apparel item. The communication path may be used to facilitate air exchange between the external environment and the wearer's body and/or to provide an exit path for moisture vapor generated by the wearer.
AQUEOUS COATING-FILM-FORMING COMPOSITION FOR FORMING LUBRICATING COATING FILM, AND AIR BAG USING SAID COMPOSITION
An aqueous coating film-forming composition is provided that can be coated uniformly on a silicone rubber surface without causing repelling or coating failure even when applied to the silicone rubber surface at a film thickness of 30 μm or less, and forms an antifriction dry coating film that reduces friction and/or blocking of the substrate surface on the surface. The composition comprises (A) a solid lubricant, (B) a thickener, and (C) a silicone binder in the form of an oil-in-water silicone emulsion comprising (c1) an ionic emulsifier and (c2) a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymerized nonionic emulsifier. Water content is removed from the composition to form an antifriction dry coating film comprising 40 to 80 mass % of component (A), 0.50 to 10 mass % of component (B), 0.60 to 5 mass % of component (c2), and 5 to 49.5 mass % of component (C) (solid fraction). Applications thereof are also provided, e.g. airbag coatings.
NAPPED ARTIFICIAL LEATHER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Disclosed is a colored napped artificial leather including: a fiber-entangled body including ultrafine fibers having an average single fiber fineness of 0.5 dtex or less; and an elastic polymer impregnated into the fiber-entangled body, the napped artificial leather having, at least on one side thereof, a napped surface formed by napping the ultrafine fibers, wherein the napped artificial leather further includes particles of a fatty acid amide-based compound that are at least attached to surfaces of the ultrafine fibers and that have an average particle size of 0.1 to 10 μm.
Glove with dry-adhesive and dry-non-adhesive micro-wedges
A glove with gecko-inspired dry adhesives is provided to greatly reduce the required grasp force on heavy, smooth items. The orientation of the gecko adhesives is designed to increase shear forces between the glove and the object when lifting and manipulating. The invention additionally equips the non-gripping surfaces of the glove (e.g. back and sides) with a non-adhesive microstructure that prevents the glove from accidently adhering to surfaces during unintentional contact, even when touching otherwise sticky materials such as adhesive-coated automotive panels.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADJUSTING FRICTION
A shoe comprises an upper portion, a sole, and a sheet of material. The upper portion is configured to receive a foot of a user. The sole is attached to the upper portion. The sheet of material is coupled to the sole. The material includes a substrate and one or more movable projections. The one or more movable projections are configured to extend from the substrate. The one or more movable projections are configured to move between a first orientation and a second orientation relative to the substrate, in response to the sole of the shoe moving between a generally flat configuration and a generally flexed configuration. The movable projections can have a triangular shape, a concave shape, a convex shape, a rectangular shape, or a barbed shape; and can be arranged in a one-direction pattern, a three-column pattern, a half pattern, a 16x2 pattern, or a checkerboard pattern.
Secondary Containment Panels and Process for Making and Installing Same
A method of manufacturing a plurality of secondary containment panels and assembling and installing the panels in a secondary containment system of an above-ground liquid storage tank or other retention facility includes forming a plurality of flexible substrate pieces. A liquid impermeable coating is applied to the upper surface of each piece such that an edge segment of the piece remains uncoated. The coating is applied to the substrate piece in an indoor enclosure using a computer controlled robotic sprayer that applies a uniform coating. A system for coating secondary containment panels. An apparatus for spraying a coating on secondary containment panels. The apparatus may be computer controlled and operate automatically to coat the surface of the panel.
Leather-like fabric
A leather-like fabric has a feel of natural nubuck leather and a napped feel and air permeability of suede leather, as well as high wear resistance. The leather-like fabric includes a fibrous structure including ultrafine fibers having an average monofilament fineness of 0.0001 dtex or more and 0.5 dtex or less, at least one surface of the fibrous structure being napped, the napped surface having resin layers located discontinuously, and each of the resin layers containing two or more layers.
INTERNALLY EMULISIFIED POLYURETHANE DISPERSION AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME
An internally emulsified polyurethane dispersion, which is prepared by using a combined chain extender system of a hydrophilic amino siloxane compound and a polyetheramine compound, is provided. The internally emulsified polyurethane dispersion can be used to prepare a synthetic leather product having good anti-stickiness, wrinkle resistance, color fastness and superior mechanical properties. A laminated synthetic leather article prepared with said internally emulsified polyurethane dispersion as well a method for preparing the synthetic leather article are also provided.
