Surface coverings including carbon sequestering materials and methods of making

Floor coverings, such as modular panels or tiles, for installation on interior surfaces include an upper wear layer and a backing layer, where the backing layer includes a filler that includes concentrated carbon. The floor coverings can sequester carbon such that the resulting product has a negative carbon footprint when subjected to a Life Cycle Assessment.

Floor carpet for vehicles and method for producing same

The vehicle floor carpet of the present invention includes a skin layer, a thermoplastic resin layer, and a base layer in this order, the thermoplastic resin layer has a plurality of open hole parts penetrating through the thermoplastic resin layer in the thickness direction, and the open hole parts are arranged on recesses in a surface of the skin layer or recesses in a surface of the base layer at the side of the thermoplastic resin layer.

Coated mat of inorganic fibers, and functional decorative layers, manufactured therefrom, in floor, ceiling and wall coverings

A method for manufacturing a mat of inorganic fibres including the manufacture or supply of a mat of inorganic fibres having two major surfaces, which is strengthened with a chemical binder, or by means of a hydrodynamic method, coating of a first major surface of the mat by means of the application of an aqueous solid dispersion on one of the two sides of the mat, drying the coated mat, printing the coated mat by means of rotary printing, digital printing, screen printing, or offset printing on the first major surface of the coating, optional application of a protective layer onto the first major surface, application of a binder, at least partial drying and at least partial crosslinking of the mat to which binder has been applied, and rolling up of the obtained material web, or cutting to size as sheets.

ARTIFICIAL LEATHER HAVING WATER-BASED POLYURETHANE FOAM LAYER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

The present invention relates to artificial leather having a water-based polyurethane foam layer including a fabric layer 110; a binder layer 111 laminated on the upper portion of the fabric layer 110; a water-based polyurethane foam layer 120 laminated on the upper portion of the fabric layer 110; a skin layer 130 laminated on the upper portion of the water-based polyurethane foam layer 120; and a surface treatment layer 140 laminated on the upper portion of the skin layer 130, wherein open cells are formed in the water-based polyurethane foam layer 120 through mechanical foaming. According to the present invention, a water-based polyurethane foam layer having open cells formed through mechanical foaming is applied to artificial leather for automobile seats.

DURABLE FIBER WEBS

Fiber webs that may be coated and used in filter media are provided. In some embodiments, the fiber web is a non-woven web that is coated with a resin including at least two components (e.g., a first component and a second component) that may react with one another to form a copolymer. In some embodiments, the coated fiber web may be sufficiently self-supporting, durable, and strong, such that filter media and/or elements formed of the web do not require additional support structures (e.g., a scrim).

NOISE-ABSORBENT AND ODOR-ADSORBENT FABRIC COVER SYSTEMS FOR VEHICLE INTERIORS
20190244597 · 2019-08-08 ·

The present disclosure provides cover systems for covering components of a cabin interior of a vehicle, such as an automobile, a train car, a bus, a boat, or an aircraft, among others. For instance, the cover systems may cover one or more of a seat and a floor, among others, of the cabin interior. The fabric cover systems may absorb or partially absorb one or more of low-frequency sounds, such as low-frequency noise emitted by an engine, and high-frequency sounds, among others. The fabric cover systems may absorb or partially absorb odor molecules. The fabric covering systems may include multiple layers. For instance, one of the layers may include activated carbon fibers. The activated carbon fibers may absorb or partially absorb one or more of sounds, liquids, and odors, among others.

Textile composite article

The application relates to a textile composite article comprising at least one textile made of fibers/filaments, especially in the form of yarns, having a partially internal discontinuous pattern of an impregnating material which penetrates at least partially a cross section of said first textile leading to impregnated areas and non-impregnated areas in accordance with the discontinuous pattern. The non-impregnated areas are air permeable and may comprise a functional coating. Such a treated textile composite is air-permeable and water vapor permeable and has reduced water absorption and re-dry time. In one embodiment the textile composite article shows an additional enhanced flame protection.

Ventilation insert

A ventilation insert for textiles, with at least one layer, covered at least partially by an absorption material and having ventilation openings, the openings being at least partially closeable via a liquid by swelling of the absorption material, obtainable by: a) treating a layer having ventilation openings with a mixture, containing a wetting agent, initiator, polymerizable monomer or oligomers, and a cross-linking agent, as a preliminary stage for the absorption material; and b) polymerizing the monomer or oligomer to form the absorption material while forming a bonded connection between the absorption material and the layer. The ventilation insert has a relatively low thickness, a low weight per unit area, and high flexibility permanently and independently of moisture after economical production, via one layer, self-sealingly closing ventilation openings, and containing the absorption material. The absorption material is connected to the layer by bonding, at least in some regions.
