Washable Carpet Tile
20230069126 · 2023-03-02 ·

This invention relates to tufted floorcovering articles that are washable in commercial, industrial, and/or residential washing machines. In particular, this invention relates to modular carpet tiles that are constructed in such a way as to withstand exposure to at least one wash cycle in an automatic washing machine. The carpet tiles are designed to be soiled, washed, and re-used, thereby providing ideal end-use applications such as entryway floorcovering articles. A further advantage includes the ability to print advertising logos on the carpet tiles and easily change out the advertising logos as desired. Both features of the carpet tile of the present invention are achievable, at least in part, because the surface of the tile that contacts the floor does not require any type of adhesive in order to use the carpet tile for its intended function.

HYDROPHOBIC AND OMNIPHOBIC PERIODIC MESOPOROUS ORGANOSILICA-BASED COATINGS AND COATING METHODS

Coated articles include a substrate and a periodic mesoporous organosilica layer adhered to a surface of the substrate. The coated articles may further include a secondary silane layer covalently attached the periodic mesoporous organosilica layer. Depending on the compositions of the layers, the combination of the periodic mesoporous organosilica layer and the secondary silane layer renders the surface of the substrate superhydrophobic or omniphobic. Methods for coating a surface of a substrate include contacting the surface with a mixture of a hydrolyzed organosilane and a poloxamer and curing the mixture on the surface to form a PMO-coated substrate. The methods may further include contacting the PMO-coated article with a secondary silane coating solution of one or more silanes, then curing the secondary silane coating solution to form a dual-coated article comprising a secondary alkylsilane layer covalently attached to the periodic mesoporous organosilica layer on the surface of the substrate.

COATED BARRIER FABRIC FOR A REUSABLE MEDICAL PRODUCT
20220205170 · 2022-06-30 ·

A coated barrier fabric for use in a reusable medical product (e.g., surgical gown, surgical drape, etc.) is provided and has two woven or knitted plies. Each of the two plies are coated on one side with a non-fluorine containing polymer and retain similar comfort and feel of uncoated woven or knitted fabrics. The coated sides of the plies face each other (i.e., inwardly) in the interior of the barrier fabric. Because of the orientation of the plies, the coated sides of the plies can come into direct contact with and move freely against each other within the interior of the barrier fabric. The coating on each of the plies is protected from exterior and environmental factors, including repeated institutional laundering/autoclave cycles, that could abrade and degrade the coating. Thus, the useful life of the reusable medical product including the barrier fabric is extended.

COMPOSITE MEMBRANE COMPRISING A FLUORINATED POLYMER OR SILICONE SURFACE LAYER CONTAINING SILVER, METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF AND USE THEREOF AS A VIRUCIDE
20230148593 · 2023-05-18 ·

A composite membrane including at least one fabric, the membrane including a surface polymer layer, the surface polymer layer including silver and at least one polymer selected from the group formed by fluorinated polymers and silicones, and the membrane being such that silver is in the form of silver supported by a mineral matrix in powder form, the particle size of the matrix being strictly larger than 0.1 μm and strictly smaller than 20 μm. A method for manufacturing a membrane according to the invention. A use of a membrane according to the invention as a virucide.

HAT CAPABLE OF RECOVERING ORIGINAL SHAPE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
20230366146 · 2023-11-16 ·

A hat capable of recovering the original shape and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The hat is characterized by preparing mixtures comprising waterborne polyurethane, water, and crosslinking agent; coating synthetic fiber yarns of the hat with the mixture; curing the mixtures in a certain temperature condition in order to form a thin polyurethane film on the surface of fabric or knitted fabric for the hat. The curing reaction products by the waterborne polyurethane component implement a shape recovery of the hat after the deformation or damage due to the external force in the initial shape of the hat.

SURFACE COVERINGS INCLUDING CARBON SEQUESTERING MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MAKING

Floor coverings, such as modular panels or tiles, for installation on interior surfaces include one or more layers, for example, an upper wear layer and a backing layer, where at least one layer includes a filler that includes a carbon negative material, such as concentrated carbon. The carbon negative material can sequester carbon such that the resulting floor covering has a negative carbon footprint when subjected to a Life Cycle Assessment.

Protective covering for wood products

Protective coverings herein have a coated woven material with a first edge parallel with a warp direction and a second edge opposite the first edge, and have a first edge band proximate the first edge and a second edge band proximate the second edge. The coated woven material has a woven scrim made of a plurality of weft tapes and a plurality of warp tapes, but the warp tapes positioned in the first and second edge bands are high-shrinkage warp tapes and the warp tapes positioned in between the first and second edge bands have a shrinkage that is less than a shrinkage of the high-shrinkage warp tapes, and has a coating on at least one major surface of the woven scrim. The plurality of high-shrinkage warp tapes shrink upon application of heat. Methods of covering a load, such as stacked lumber, with the protective covering are also disclosed.

Polyester Tufted Carpet And Polyester Nonwoven Carpet With Polyester Roll Coating

The present invention relates polyester tufted carpet where the tufts are engaged with a primary polyester backing and where a polyester roll coating is applied to the backside of the primary backing to lock the tufts which therefore avoids the use of a latex adhesive. The present invention also relates to the use of a polyester roll coating applied to the backside of a nonwoven polyester carpet.
