BIODEGRADABLE FABRIC AND USE OF SUCH FABRIC
The invention relates to a multilayered composite textile, comprising at least one first layer, comprising a first biodegradable polymer; and, at least one second layer, comprising a second layer fabric wherein the second layer fabric comprises second layer filaments; wherein said second layer fabric comprises a second biodegradable polymer, characterized in that, the visual degradation speed of the first layer is slower than the visual degradation speed of the second layer. The invention further relates to the use of such fabric for temporary weed control, temporary erosion control, as a hygienic article, or temporary packaging material.
Water Catalyzed Nitrate Fixation of Atmospheric Nitrogen
A woven fabric formed of fabric fibers or threads coated with a hydrogel, wherein said hydrogel is not crosslinked or is partially crosslinked to the fabric fibers or thread, wherein the hydrogel has a number of excess reactive molecules that are available for a reaction with one or more molecules solvated in an aqueous solution, and wherein the reactive molecules of the hydrogel can reversibly bond with the molecules solvated in an aqueous solution, such that the reactive molecules of the hydrogel attract the molecules solvated in aqueous solution when the hydrogel coated fabric substrate is exposed to an aqueous solution.
FLAT TEXTILE STRUCTURE WITH COATING
A textile fabric with a woven support layer including at least polyethylene and/or polyester fibres. A surface coating is applied onto at least one surface of the support layer, and the surface coating includes at least one polymer blend. The polymer blend has at least one mixture of polyethylene and polyethylene-vinyl acetate, and the polymer blend has more than 40 wt. % of polyethylene-vinyl acetate, based on the total weight of the polymer blend.
Plant Shelter
The present invention relates to a plant shelter, comprising an elongate tubular body having a wall formed from a biodegradable material comprising: a matrix of natural fibres; and a bioplastic polyurethane in which the fibres are held; wherein the natural fibres comprise a woven layer. Also disclosed is a biodegradable woven sheet comprising a matrix of woven natural fibres embedded in bioplastic polyurethane for use in such a plant shelter, along with related kits. Such plant shelters may provide protection to growing plants while being enabled to break down in situ upon exposure to the elements in a timely manner.
