An ink contains an aqueous medium, coloring particles dispersing in the aqueous medium, and a cross-linking agent having a carbodiimide group. The coloring particles contain a specific vinyl resin and a specific salt compound containing a dye. The specific vinyl resin includes a specific repeating unit derived from a specific monomer having a carboxy group. The specific vinyl resin has an acid value of at least 50 mg KOH/g and no greater than 150 mg KOH/g. The specific vinyl resin has a glass transition point of at least 50° C. and no higher than 80° C. The ink does not contain a free resin dispersing or dissolving in the aqueous medium or has a percentage content of the free resin of greater than 0.00% by mass and no greater than 0.50% by mass.

Methods of treating textile fibres

According to the invention there is provided a method of treating textile fibers including the steps of: providing a polymeric precursor which includes a group of sub-formula (I) where R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently selected from (CR.sup.7R.sup.8).sub.n, or a group CR.sup.9R.sup.10, CR.sup.7R.sup.8CR.sup.9R.sup.10 or CR.sup.9R.sup.10CR.sup.7R.sup.8 where n is 0, 1 or 2, R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 are independently selected from hydrogen, halo or hydrocarbyl, and either one of R.sup.9 or R.sup.10 is hydrogen and the other is an electron withdrawing group, or R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 together form an electron withdrawing group, and R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are independently selected from CH or CR.sup.11 where R.sup.11 is an electron withdrawing group, the dotted lines indicate the presence or absence of a bond, X.sup.1 is a group CX.sup.2X.sup.3 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is absent and a group CX.sup.2 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is present, Y.sup.1 is a group CY.sup.2Y.sup.3 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is absent and a group CY.sup.2 where the dotted line bond to which it is attached is present, and X.sup.2, X.sup.3, Y.sup.2 and Y.sup.3 are independently selected from hydrogen, fluorine or other substituents, R.sup.1 is selected from hydrogen, halo, nitro, hydrocarbyl, optionally substituted or interposed with functional groups, or —R.sup.3-R.sup.5≡Y.sup.1, and R.sup.13 is C(O) or S(O).sub.2; coating the textile fibers with the polymeric precursor; and polymerizing the polymeric precursor so as to produce a polymeric coating on the textile fibers. ##STR00001##

Dyed leather-like sheet and fiber structure

Disclosed is a leather-like sheet having a lightness L* of 35 or less, and including a fiber structure including fiber dyed with a dye composition including C.I. Basic Blue 3 and at least one blue cationic dye other than C.I. Basic Blue 3, and an elastic polymer contained in internal voids of the fiber structure, or the fiber structure. Also disclosed is a leather-like sheet having a lightness L* of 35 or less, and including a fiber structure including fiber dyed with an azo-based blue cationic dye, and an elastic polymer contained in internal voids of the fiber structure, wherein the leather-like sheet or the fiber structure has a color difference (ΔE), determined when treated for 48 hours under moist and hot conditions of 80° C. and a moisture of 90%, of ΔE≤2. or the fiber structure.

The casings include at least one compartment formed of a water-soluble film, and one or more agents disposed within the at least one compartment. The encased dye tablet includes one or more agents compounded with a filler and a binder. The one or more agents include at least one colorant formulation and at least one fixative.

The polyester resin has a glass transition point of 40° C. to 70° C. The polyester resin includes a first repeating unit derived from a polyvalent carboxylic acid having the sulfonic acid group, a second repeating unit derived from a polyvalent carboxylic acid having no sulfonic acid group, and a third repeating unit derived from a polyhydric alcohol. The content ratio of the first repeating unit relative to the total amount of the first repeating unit and the second repeating unit is at least 1.5 mol % and no greater than 20.0 mol %. The mass ratio of the polyester resin to the basic dye is at least 1.0 and no greater than 10.0.

Hydrographic sheets and dip and decorator activity-kits are provided. The dip and decorator activity-kits comprise one or more hydrographic sheet formed of a water-soluble film, having decoration art formed from a non-aqueous ink or dye disposed on at least one side of the sheet, and an instruction for imparting an artistic effect to the article using the one or more hydrographic sheets. The hydrographic sheet leaves floating decoration art upon dissolution in water and wherein the floating decoration art comprises a softened and at least partially solubilized water-soluble film with decoration art for adhering to an article.
