Polyester Composition with Improved Dyeing Properties
20210371582 · 2021-12-02 · ·

A composition with advantages for textile fibers is disclosed. The composition is a melt of polyester precursors selected from the group consisting of terephthalic acid, dimethyl terephthalate, ethylene glycol, sebacic acid in an amount sufficient to give filaments and fibers made from the melt a dye receptivity similar to cotton at atmospheric pressure; pentaerythritol in an amount sufficient to give pill resistance to yarns blended of cotton with fibers made from the melt, and polyethylene glycol in an amount sufficient to give the melt the elasticity necessary to produce extruded filament from the melt. In an exemplary embodiment, the copolymer melt includes between about 4 and 6 percent sebacic acid, between about 500 and 800 ppm pentaerythritol, and between about 3.5 and 3.9 percent polyethylene glycol, with less than 2 percent DEG, at an intrinsic viscosity of between about 0.640 and 0.690 dl/g, and at a temperature of between about 268° C. and 271° C., with the proportional amounts being based on the amount of polymerized copolymer.

Method for producing durable fluffy and soft loop fabric having embedded weft floats
11286590 · 2022-03-29 · ·

A method for producing durable fluffy and soft loop fabric having embedded weft floats, including: 1) yarn selection; 2) winding; 3) warping; 4) sizing; 5) weaving; and 6) dyeing and finishing. During the weaving process, low-twist or zero-twist yarns or filament long floats are embedded into loops. During the dyeing and finishing process, due to weft-wise shrinkage, the embedded weft floats shrink and expand, thereby supporting the loops upright without lodging. In addition, the fluffy zero-twist yarns and interlaced yarn floats form a stacked stereoscopic structure with other weft yarns fixedly connected to the loops, thereby facilitating the extension of the loops and enlarging moisture diffusion surfaces of the loops during baking and air-drying processes to create a rapid drying condition for towels. Therefore, a loop fabric which has a special style and a fluffy and soft hand feeling and is still fluffy and soft after being washed is obtained.

Material blend with patterned fabric

A blended fabric having a patterned color includes a first portion comprised of cotton and a second portion comprised of polyester. A dye that has a strong affinity for cotton and a slight affinity for polyester is applied to the fabric. The dye gives the cotton portion a deep black color and applies a light gray color to the polyester portion. A combination of deep black cotton and light gray polyester combines to provide the patterned color of the blended fabric. The blended fabric may be comprised of a larger percentage of cotton than polyester that is spun into a single filament yarn that is then knitted into a Jersey Knit styled fabric, a looped knit terry fabric, or a fleece fabric. Further, the present invention comprises a blended fabric whereby dye absorption by the cotton and not by the polyester create darker and lighter patterns within the blended fabric.
