Plastic impregnation of the wire rope (10, 20) can be ensured due to the separator strands/17, 27).
HIGH MODULUS TEXTILE CORD WITH AN AT LEAST TRIPLE TWIST
A high modulus textile cord (50) with at least triple twist (T1, T2, T3) comprises at least N strands (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d), N being greater than 1, twisted together with a final twist T3 and a final direction D2, each strand being made up of M pre-strands (10a, 10b, 10c), M being greater than 1, themselves twisted together with an intermediate twist T2 (T2a, T2b, T2c, T2d) and an intermediate direction D1 opposite to D2, each pre-strand itself consisting of a yarn (5) which has been twisted on itself beforehand with an initial twist T1 (T1a, T1b, T1c) and the direction D1, in which at least half of the N times M yarns have an initial elastic modulus denoted Mi which is greater than 2000 cN/tex. This textile cord can advantageously be used as a reinforcer in tires for vehicles, particularly in the belt or carcass reinforcement of these tires.
ROPE MADE OF TEXTILE FIBRE MATERIAL
The invention relates to a rope (1) made of textile fibre material, which is characterized by the combination of features whereby
a) the load-bearing fibre material of the rope (1) consists of high-strength synthetic fibres
b) the rope (1) is in the form of a spiral strand rope
c) the rope (1) has at least two, preferably at least three concentric load-bearing strand layers (3,4,5)
d) the individual strands (7,8,9,10,11,12) of the strand layers (3,4,5) are movable with respect to one another
e) the degree of filling of the rope (1) with textile fibre material is ≧75%, preferably ≧85%
f) the outermost ply (5,6) of the rope has a coefficient of frictionμ with respect to steel of μ<0.15.
ELASTOMER REINFORCEMENT CORD
Provided is an elastomer reinforcement cord in which the problem of stress concentration at an interface between an elastomer and a metal cord is solved and the durability is thereby improved. The elastomer reinforcement cord includes metal filaments (1a) and (1b), and a polymer material (3) having a melting point or softening point of 80° C. to 160° C. The elastomer reinforcement cord has a core (11) and at least one sheath layer (12). In a region surrounded by a line connecting the centers of the metal filaments constituting the outermost sheath layer at a cross-section in a direction orthogonal to an axial direction after vulcanization, when a region occupied by other than the metal filaments is defined as a gap region, the polymer material is contained in this gap region, and a filling rate, which is a ratio of the area of the polymer material, is higher than 120%, taking the area of the gap region as 100%.
Wire rope coupling for elevator
An elevator assembly includes an elevator cabin, a counterweight, a compensating cable and a means for suspending the compensating cable from the elevator cabin. The compensating cable includes a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end is coupled with the elevator cabin and the distal end is coupled with the counterweight. The means for suspending the compensating cable is coupled with the elevator cabin and is further coupled with the compensating cable adjacent the proximal end of the compensating cable. The compensating cable has an elastic deformation limit. The means for suspending the compensating cable has a tensile strength that is less than the elastic deformation limit of the compensating cable.
Elevator system suspension member
A belt for suspending and/or driving an elevator system component include one or more metallic cord tension elements extending along a length of the belt, and one or more non-metallic tension elements extending along a length of the belt. Each non-metallic tension element is formed from a non-metallic material. The one or more metallic cord tension elements and the one or more non-metallic tension elements are arrayed laterally across a lateral width of the belt. The belt may be used in an elevator system including a hoistway, a drive machine having a traction sheave coupled thereto, an elevator car movable within the hoistway. The belt is operably connected to the elevator car and interactive with the traction sheave to suspend and/or drive the elevator car along the hoistway.
Hybrid cable for reinforcing polymeric articles and reinforced articles
A hybrid cable having a core and a wrap; the core made from a carbon fiber yarn or bundle of carbon fiber strands or yarns; and the wrap made of a plurality of metal wires helically wrapped around the core, the plurality of metal wires laid side by side without crossing each other. The fibers, yarns, or core may be treated with polymeric sizing, adhesive, or binder. The wire may be steel and may have a coating such as brass or zinc plating, or a polymeric coating or treatment. The hybrid cable is useful for reinforcing composite articles such as belts, track, or hose.
