Core strand (2) and sheath strands (3) are each formed by twisting together one or two core filaments (2c) and (3c) and plural sheath filaments (2s) and (3s), respectively, and a relationship represented by the following Formula (1) is satisfied when a wire diameter of core filament(s) (2c) of core strand (2), a wire diameter of sheath filaments (2s), a wire diameter of core filaments (3c) of sheath strands (3), and a wire diameter of sheath filaments (3s) are defined as dcc, dcs, dsc and dss, respectively: dcc>dcs≥dsc>dss (1).
TYRE FOR VEHICLE WHEELS
A tyre for vehicle wheels comprises a support structure and a tread band arranged in a radially outer position with respect to the support structure. The support structure comprises a plurality of hybrid reinforcing cords (10). Each of the hybrid reinforcing cords (10) has at least two strands (20) twisted together with a predetermined twisting pitch. Each of said at least two strands (20) comprises at least one monofilament textile wire (21) and at least one multifilament textile yarn (22) comprising a plurality of textile filaments (22a). In any cross section of the hybrid reinforcing cord (10), said at least one monofilament textile wire (21) is at least partially embedded in the filaments (22a) of said at least one multifilament textile yarn (22).
Reinforcement strand for reinforcing a polymer article
A reinforcement strand (400) comprises a core (403) around which steel filaments (404) are twisted all with the same final lay length and direction. The steel filaments are arranged in an intermediate layer comprising N first steel filaments and an outer layer of 2N steel filaments circumferentially arranged around the intermediate layer. In the intermediate layer filaments will contact one another at a closing lay length that is determined by the number of steel filaments N in the intermediate layer, the diameter of the core and the diameter of the first steel filaments. By choosing the final lay length and direction equal to the between two and six times the closing lay length gaps will form between the intermediate layer filaments. The 2N outer layer filaments are further divided into a group of smaller (408) and a group of larger (406) diameter steel filaments.
Cable bead and tire
Disclosed are a cable bead and a tire. The cable bead includes a core wire located at the middle position of the bead and at least one layer of outer winding wires wound around the core wire, each layer of outer winding wires being evenly wounded along the circumferential direction of the core wire, where the cross section of the outer winding wires is a flat surface having a major axis and a minor axis; the major axis is perpendicular to the radial direction of the cross section of the bead, and the minor axis is parallel to the radial direction of the cross section of the bead; the outer winding wires are in surface contact with the core wire; and when there are at least two layers of outer winding wires, a line contact is formed between the layers of outer winding wires.
Aircraft mounted hoist system having a multi-stranded wire rope cable
A hoist system includes a wire rope cable having a first end and a second end. The wire rope cable further including multiple strands twisted into a helical shape. The hoist system further including a lifting mechanism configured to attach to the first end of the wire rope cable. The lifting mechanism including at least one of a rotating drum and a set of frictional rollers. The hoist system further including a motor configured to rotate the lifting mechanism; and a housing configured to house the lifting mechanism, the motor, and at least part of the wire rope cable.
Hybrid cable for reinforcing polymeric articles and reinforced articles
A hybrid cable having a core and a wrap; the core made from a carbon fiber yarn or bundle of carbon fiber strands or yarns; and the wrap made of a plurality of metal wires helically wrapped around the core, the plurality of metal wires laid side by side without crossing each other. The fibers, yarns, or core may be treated with polymeric sizing, adhesive, or binder. The wire may be steel and may have a coating such as brass or zinc plating, or a polymeric coating or treatment. The hybrid cable is useful for reinforcing composite articles such as belts, track, or hose.
Running wire rope and method of manufacturing same
A wire rope formed from a resin core and six strands, the resin core having an inner core with a circular cross section and an outer layer built up on the periphery thereof. The outer layer has a melting temperature lower than that of the inner core. The six strands are twisted together helically on the periphery of the resin core in an intertwining die in such a state that gaps are assured between the strands. The resulting wire rope is heated in a heating unit at a temperature higher than the melting temperature of the outer layer but lower than the melting temperature of the inner core. The wire rope is formed by subsequently compressing the six strands from the periphery thereof in a compressing die. The molten outer layer is hardened by natural cooling, after which the wire rope is taken up.

BELT COMPRISING STEEL CORDS ADAPTED FOR WEAR DETECTION
A belt containing steel cords, the steel cords containing strands made of steel filaments wherein the largest diameter filaments are at least intermittently positioned at the radially outer side of the steel cord. Such a configuration can be obtained by using steel cord constructions wherein the thickest filaments are positioned outside of the steel cord which is contrary to the current practice. In a further embodiment the largest diameter filaments fill up some or all of the valleys of the strands at their radially outer side. These monofilaments thus have the same lay length and direction as the strands in the steel cord. The advantage of putting the largest filaments at the outside is that they will break first and thus will be readily detectable by electrical, magnetic or visual means. In this way a belt is provided that can be monitored easier and more conveniently than prior art belts.
