Synthetic rope

A synthetic rope (20) comprises a core (22) and at least a first layer surrounding the core (22). The first layer has first layer strands (26). The core has a fluted outer surface with spaced apart helical concave grooves. Each of these grooves contacts one of the first layer strands (26). The grooves have a radius of curvature (24) that is greater than the radius of curvature (14) of a circle having a same diameter as the contacting first layer strand before twisting.

BRAIDED TWINE AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME FOR FISHING AND AQUACULTURE APPLICATIONS

The present disclosure provides a braided twine (100) that includes a twine core (102), a braided sheath (106) configured around the twine core (102), and an intermediate film (104) configured between the twine core (102) and braided sheath (106) to bridge a gap between the twine core (102) and the braided sheath (106).

High resolution headline sonar cable

A production method for a headline sonar cable characterized by steps of: a. providing a first strength member (14); b. coupling to strength member (14) a conductor (122); c. forming a layer of polymeric material about the combination of strength member (14) and conductor (122) while ensuring that the conductor remains slack; d. forming a flow shield around the layer of polymeric material, thus forming an elongatable internally located conductive structure; and e. braiding a strength-member jacket layer (52) of polymeric material around the elongatable internally located conductive structure while ensuring that the conductor is slack when surrounded by the jacket layer (52). For another embodiment, an optical fibre is wrapped around the exterior of the layer of polymeric material within which is enclosed a braided conductor formed about the first strength member (14). Other embodiments employ further thermo-plastic layers and further sheaths and further conductors.

Wire rope, sheave and drum

An object of the present invention is to further improve upon the strength and durability of a wire rope. A wire rope has a core rope made of steel; a covering layer, which is made of a composite resin, covering the outer peripheral surface of the core rope; and multiple side strands, which are made of steel, wound on the outer peripheral surface of the core rope covered with the covering layer. The composite resin constituting the covering layer is obtained by blending cellulose nanofibers with polypropylene serving as a matrix.

A wire rope for elevator systems used to hoist, compensate, and govern an elevator car. The wire rope may include six to ten outer steel strands surrounding a central braided polyester core. The wire rope may include six to ten outer steel strands and six to ten inner steel strands surrounding a central braided polyester core. The braided polyester core may include 8-24 single- or double-braided outer strands surrounding a polyester core center that may include parallel fibers, twisted fibers, twisted strands, single-braided strands, or double-braided strands.

Method of manufacturing an escalator handrail

A method of manufacturing an escalator handrail which has a composite material including a metallic steel wire and a thermoplastic resin, said metallic steel wire having a center elemental wire and a plurality of strands placed so as to surround the center elemental wire, including: a preheating step of heating the metallic steel wire; a composite-material forming step of integrating the metallic steel wire heated in the preheating step with the thermoplastic resin in a molten state to thereby form the composite material; and a cooling step of cooling the composite material formed in the composite-material forming step.

Synthetic fiber rope

A synthetic fiber rope comprising:—a core, said core being a laid or braided synthetic fiber strand,—a polymer layer, said polymer layer covering said core,—a first layer, said first layer having at least six first synthetic fiber strands laid in a first direction surround said polymer layer, and—a second layer, said second layer having at least twelve second synthetic fiber strands laid in a second direction surround said first layer.
