Method and device for producing a ribbon and a thread of bamboo fiber
The present invention relates to a method of producing a ribbon comprising bamboo fibers. The method comprises positioning the fibers on a conveyor and conveying the fibers in a transport direction, interconnecting the fibers by covering the fibers with thread and/or particles of a sticky material with at least one web forming device which is positioned above and/or below the conveyor and which ejects thread and/or particles. The formed thread and/or particles attaches to the fibers and forms a web which interconnects the fibers in order to form the ribbon and/or stitching the fibres together with at least one stitching device which is configured to stitch the individual fibers together in order to form the ribbon.
Braided, reflective textile sleeve and method of construction thereof
A braided textile sleeve having a flexible, seamless, reflective tubular wall and method of construction thereof are provided. The tubular wall extends along a longitudinal axis between opposite open ends and includes a first set of yarns and a second set of yarns braided with one another. The first and second yarns are provided as different types of yarns from one another and are braided in opposite helical directions with one another. The tubular wall includes a third set of yarns captured between the first and second sets of yarns, with the third set of yarns extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. The sleeve includes a reflective outer layer fixed to an outer surface of the braided yarns.
BRAIDING, WINDING OR SPIRALLING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SAME
The invention relates to a method for operating a braiding, winding or spiraling machine for braiding around, wrapping around or spiraling around a strand-like material, in particular a cable, with at least one elongate material strand formed from at least one elongate material fibre, in particular from at least one wire. In the method, a diameter of the strand-like material is measured and a feed rate of the strand-like material and/or a rotational speed at which the at least one elongate material strand moves about the longitudinal axis of the strand-like material is controlled by open-loop or closed-loop control depending on said diameter measured. A predefined degree of coverage of the strand-like material by the at least one elongate material strand can be kept substantially constant by means of an open-loop or closed-loop control of the relative feed rate of the strand-like material depending on the diameter measured.
ELONGATION AND HEAT INDICATING SYNTHETIC FIBER ROPE
Disclosed is a non-steel strength membered high strength cable easily monitored for heat and elongation comprising a length of a core-cable (10), the length of core-cable (10) including at least two fiber-optic conductors (2) that are: (i) disposed in a helical shape; and (ii) completely encased in a solid, flexible material.
One fiber-optic conductor capable of transmitting at least Raman backscattering and the other fiber-optic conductor capable of transmitting at least Brillouin scattering.
A combination of the cable (10): (i) with an interrogator that can read and interpret Raman backscattering coupled to and communicating with the fiber optic conductor that is capable of transmitting at least Raman backscattering; and (ii) another interrogator that can read and interpret Brillouin scattering coupled to and communicating with the fiber optic conductor that is capable of transmitting at least Brillouin scattering;
permits ascertaining the elongation of the cable, without using loose tube fiber-opticplacement.
IMPROVEMENTS IN ARMOURED CABLE AND ITS MANUFACTURE
A product having a metal strip and a central longitudinal axis. The strip has two or more strip parts, each having a common radius of curvature defining a helix having an angle being offset from one another in the direction of the axis. A cross section of the strip parts causes them to be interlocked together throughout their lengths to define a flexible metal tube. The outside diameter of the tube is between ⅜″ and 1⅜″ and the helix angle of each strip part is between eight and thirty degrees.
Distributed control system for thermal snow melt and freeze protection systems
A snow and ice melt system having one or more zones, each including one or more heaters, and having one or more controllers configured to use a power output of each heater and an average temperature of each zone to determine operational control of each heater to achieve a specified result. Hydronic or resistive heaters could be used. The controllers may be configured to use a system temperature response over time to determine if a phase change of the snow or ice is occurring. The phase change might indicate that snow or ice is present on a zone and is melting. Use of a first derivative of the system temperature response over time might determine a percentage of a zone covered by snow or ice. Use of a second derivative of the system temperature response over time might determine whether melting is complete.
ELEVATOR LOAD BEARING MEMBER HAVING A JACKET INCLUDING A FLUOROPOLYMER
An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator load bearing member includes a plurality of load bearing cords and a jacket at least partially surrounding the cords. The jacket includes an inner portion received on the cords and a fluoropolymer outer portion that establishes a fire-resistant exterior of the jacket.
Draw tape for cables or similar flexible elements
Draw tape for cables including an elongated flexible element made of a helical multifilament rope composed of three filaments or strands helically wound about a common longitudinal axis. According to an additional feature, the rope is hammered. Still according to an improvement, the rope is externally covered by a jacket.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A RIBBON AND A THREAD OF BAMBOO FIBER
The present invention relates to a method of producing a ribbon (12) comprising bamboo fibers (14), the method comprising: positioning the fibers (14) on a conveyor (16) and conveying the fibers in a transport direction, interconnecting the fibers (14) by: covering the fibers with thread (42) and/or particles of a sticky material with at least one web forming device (40) which is positioned above and/or below the conveyor and which ejects thread and/or particles, wherein the formed thread and/or particles attaches to the fibers and forms a web (45) which interconnects the fibers in order to form the ribbon, and/or stitching the fibres together with at least one stitching device (40B) which is configured to stitch the individual fibers together in order to form the ribbon.
Elevator belt with additive layer
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt, a jacket material at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension members, and a primary overlay layer applied to one or more of the plurality of tension members or at least a portion of the jacket material. An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car movable therein, and a belt operably connected to the elevator car to suspend and/or drive the elevator car along the hoistway.
