Cable for bicycle
A cable for a bicycle is provided, including: an inner tube, a metal layer, a woven layer and an outer layer. The metal layer includes at least one metal wire disposed around an outer periphery of the inner tube. The woven layer is disposed around an outer periphery of the metal layer and includes a plurality of yarn threads interlaced with one another. The outer layer is disposed around an outer periphery of the woven layer, and the plurality of yarn threads are partially embedded radially within the outer layer.

Elevator system belt
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt. Each tension member includes a plurality of basalt fibers to enhance temperature resistance of the tension member. A jacket material at least partially encapsulates the plurality of tension members. An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car located in the hoistway and movable therein, and a belt operably connected to the elevator car to suspend and/or drive the elevator car along the hoistway. The belt includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt. Each tension member includes a plurality of basalt fibers to enhance temperature resistance of the tension member. A jacket material at least partially encapsulates the plurality of tension members.
Elevator hoisting member and method of use
A hoisting member for an elevator system includes a core having strength components embedded in a matrix material. A coating can surround the core to protect the core and control the coefficient of friction of the outer surface based on a range of desired friction properties to prevent or inhibit slippage of the hoisting member when used in a traction elevator system. The strength components may be made from carbon nanotube material with the matrix material made from a polymer material. The hoisting member may also include other conductive material or fiber optic material. The hoisting member may also serve as the trailing cable in an elevator system. In doing so the hosting member transmits power and data between the elevator car and the elevator controller thereby eliminating the need for a traditional trailing cable.
Elevator load bearing member having a fabric structure
An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator load bearing member includes a plurality of load bearing cords and a woven fabric including a plurality of warp yarns along a length of the load bearing member and a plurality of weft yarns transverse to the length of the load bearing member. The woven fabric includes a central portion and lateral edge portions extending along the length of the load bearing member. The central portion includes the load bearing cords interlaced with the woven fabric. The lateral edge portions each include terminal ends of the weft yarns. The central portion has a first plurality of warp yarns situated between laterally outermost ones of the cords. The lateral edge portions have a second plurality of warp yarns between the laterally outermost ones of the cords and the terminal ends of the weft yarns.
SYNTHETIC LIFTING SLINGS AND RELATED METHODS
Lifting slings for use in rigging projects to aid in the lifting of heavy objects and related methods are provided herein. A lifting sling can include an inner core comprising continuous synthetic filaments that form one or more load-bearing endless loops. The lifting sling can also include a tubular outer cover loosely surrounding the inner core so that the filaments of the core are movable relative to each other and to the outer cover.

Cut resistant rope
A rope having a core for providing strength to the rope, where at least a metal or composite woven or warp knitted fabric having multiple substantially parallel elongated metal elements is provided around the core for protecting said core from impact and cutting, and where the multiple substantially parallel elongated elements are in the warp direction and held by yarns.
Chafe guard assembly for a watercraft mooring line
Apparatus and method for mooring a watercraft to a stationary attachment point such as a dock. A guard assembly reduces chafing between a mooring line and an edge surface of the watercraft using an elongated tube of flexible material through which a medial portion of the mooring line freely passes. A securement strap of the guard assembly extends from a proximal end of the tube and is configured for attachment to an attachment point of the watercraft, such as a cleat. The securement strap has a length sufficient to maintain a medial portion of the tube in interposed relation between the mooring line and the edge surface of the watercraft. The securement strap may be adjustable in length to accommodate different watercraft configurations.
LIFT UNITS FOR SUPPORTING A SUBJECT, LIFT STRAPS, AND METHODS OF MAKING LIFT STRAPS
A lift unit for supporting a subject includes a lift body configured to travel along an overhead rail and a lift strap having a payout length extending from the lift body. The payout length retracts and extends relative to the lift body. The lift strap includes a woven fiber construction having a pattern integrated into the woven fiber construction. The pattern includes a plurality of markings indicative of the payout length.
