Smart hoisting rope
The present invention concerns a rope health monitoring system and a rope for such rope health monitoring system whereby the rope comprises objects which are remotely detectable, readable and programmable identification (ID) tags and whereby the rope monitoring system comprises said rope, at least one ID tag reader device mounted along said predetermined path of the rope, to detect at least the identity and optionally the historic health status and/or at least one physical rope parameters of the individual rope section provided with and identified by the at least one ID tag, at least one ID tag writing device, to write a new health status of the individual rope section to the at least one ID tag, at least one means to measure at least one rope operation parameter, a computing unit provided with data, whereby the computing unit is equipped with an algorithm capable to compute the relative longitudinal positioning of individual sections of the rope and the additional damage or damages suffered by individual sections of the rope, compute and record the new health status of the individual sections of the rope, store the new health status of the individual section of the rope in the corresponding programmable ID tag of the rope.
ROPE FOR AIRBORNE WIND POWER GENERATION SYSTEMS
The invention relates to a rope having a length LR of at least 100 m, the rope comprising synthetic filaments with a filament tenacity of at least 1.0 N/tex, characterized in that a weight fraction χ of the total weight of synthetic filaments present in the load bearing core have a length LF of 0.01 m to 0.7*L.sub.R, wherein said weight fraction is at least 50 wt %. The invention further relates to an airborne wind power generation system comprising the rope as well as the use of the rope in an airborne wind power generation system wherein the length of the rope oscillates between a maximum length L.sub.max and a minimum length L.sub.min, wherein L.sub.max is at most 10,000 m and L.sub.min is at least 100 m and wherein the ratio of L.sub.max to L.sub.min is between 10 and 1.5.

Cut resistant rope
A rope having a core for providing strength to the rope, where at least a metal or composite woven or warp knitted fabric having multiple substantially parallel elongated metal elements is provided around the core for protecting said core from impact and cutting, and where the multiple substantially parallel elongated elements are in the warp direction and held by yarns.
Cord
A cord is provided, including: a core material and an outer layer. The core material includes a plurality of first strands braided with one another, and the outer layer is disposed around the core material and includes a plurality of second strands knitted with one another.
Security devices
A security device has a flexible strap (26) with a lock unit (28) attached at each end. The strap (26) comprises a plurality of longitudinally extending multi-filament cables or ropes (2) arranged in a substantially planar array embedded in an elastomeric material (4). The cables or ropes (2) have a coating of primer for creating a bond with the elastomeric material (4). The primer may be restricted to the external surface of the cables or ropes (2), or some of the surfaces of the filaments may be free of primer. This facilitates relative movement of the filaments during flexure or compression of the strap (26). Moreover, an extrusion process for manufacturing the strap (26) including a priming station (12) is disclosed.

Abrasion resistant product
A product comprising a plurality of interlaced yarns wherein at least a first yarn having a tensile strength, having a value TS in N/tex, said first yarn containing a plurality of UHMWPE fibers having a titer, having a value T in den, wherein the ratio T/TS is at least 5 den.tex/N. The tensile strength is obtained by adjusting the drawing ratio or the UHMWPE filaments/fibers accordingly. The product shows resistance to abrasion. The product can be a rope or round slings, comprising a sheath/jacket comprising said first yarn.
