MULTI-STRAND CABLE OF 1XN STRUCTURE FOR PROTECTIVE REINFORCEMENT OF A TIRE
A method is provided for manufacturing a multistrand cable having a 1×N structure and including a single layer of N strands wound in a helix. Each strand includes an internal layer of M internal threads and an external layer of P external threads. The method includes a step of individually assembling each of the N strands, during which, in chronological order, the M internal threads are wound, the P external threads are wound, and the M internal threads and the P external threads are elongated such that a structural elongation associated with the P external threads of each strand is greater than or equal to 0.05%. The method further includes a step of collectively assembling the N strands, during which the N strands are wound to form the cable.
METALLIC REINFORCING CORD FOR TYRES FOR VEHICLE WHEELS
The invention relates to a metallic reinforcing cord (10) for tyres for vehicle wheels, comprising at least two metallic wires (11) twisted together with a predetermined twisting pitch (P). The metallic reinforcing cord (10) has a part load elongation greater than 3%, preferably greater than 3.5%.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING A METALLIC REINFORCING CORD FOR TYRES FOR VEHICLE WHEELS
The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a metallic reinforcing cord (10) for tyres for vehicle wheels. The process comprises providing at least one elongated element (15) comprising at least one metallic wire (11) twisted together with at least one textile yarn (20) and removing said at least one textile yarn (20) from said at least one elongated element (15) to form the aforementioned metallic reinforcing cord (10). Such a metallic reinforcing cord (10) has a helical geometry, consisting only of said at least one metallic wire (11) that extends along a helical path. The invention also relates to an apparatus (1) for manufacturing the aforementioned metallic reinforcing cord (10).
METHOD FOR SEPARATING AND REASSEMBLING A DUAL LAYER ASSEMBLY
The method enables the production of a final assembly (A) comprising two layers and comprises a step (100) of providing a temporary assembly (AT) comprising a temporary core (NT), a step (124) of separating the temporary assembly (AT) into a first divided assembly (AFI), a second divided assembly (AF2), a third divided assembly (AF3) and the temporary core (NT). The method comprises a step (135) of reassembling the first divided assembly (AFI), the second divided assembly (AF2) and the third divided assembly (AF3) to form the final assembly (A).
Cable for a tire
A cable as may be used in a tire, including a pneumatic tire. The cable is constructed in a manner that can provide a desired stiffness to a tire as well as a certain amount of structural elongation. The cable can be provided in a manner that does not necessarily result in an increase in the overall weight of the tire as would occur by e.g., increasing the diameter of a conventional cable construction.
Rope and elevator using same
Provided is a rope including a load supporting member and a covering member covering an outer periphery of the load supporting member. The load supporting member includes: an impregnation material and reinforcement fiber bodies, which continuously extend in a longitudinal direction of the rope, are embedded in the impregnation material, and are configured to support a load acting in the longitudinal direction. The reinforcement fiber bodies include corrugated reinforcement fiber bodies which have, at least in part, a corrugated shape in a section parallel to the longitudinal direction. The corrugated reinforcement fiber bodies have such a length that a total length thereof given when the corrugated reinforcement fiber bodies are straightened is equal to or larger than 1.1 times a total length of the load supporting member.
Small Diameter, High Strength, Low Elongation, Creep Resistant, Abrasion Resistant Braided Structure
A braided structure that includes a core and a sheath is provided. The core includes a yarn formed at least in part from an aromatic polymer (e.g., an aromatic polyester/liquid crystalline polymer or an aramid polymer), and the sheath, which includes a plurality of ultra high molecular weight polyolefin yarns, is braided around the core. The sheath has an overall diameter ranging from about 60 micrometers to about 650 micrometers. Despite its small diameter, the braided structure can be creep resistant and abrasion resistant while at the same time exhibiting low elongation, a high load at break, and high stiffness. The braided structure can be used in medical applications such as sutures, load bearing orthopedic applications, artificial tendons/ligaments, fixation devices, actuation cables, components for tissue repair, etc.
Tyre for wheels of heavy transport vehicles
A tire includes a carcass structure including at least one carcass ply, a belt structure applied in a radially outer position with respect to the carcass structure and a tread band applied in a radially outer position with respect to the belt structure. The belt structure includes at least one reinforcing strip incorporating a plurality of reinforcing elements arranged substantially in the circumferential direction. The reinforcing elements include at least one high-elongation metal cord. The metal cord includes a plurality of intertwined strands and each strand includes a plurality of filaments. Advantageously all the filaments of each strand have a diameter not greater than 0.175 mm.

A braided structure that includes a core and a sheath is provided. SPLITTING FACILITY
A facility for manufacturing at least first and second assemblies of M1 filamentary elements and M2 filamentary elements, in which each of the first and second assemblies includes a plurality of filamentary elements wound together in a helix, includes an assembling apparatus and a splitting apparatus. The assembling apparatus of the facility assembles M filamentary elements together into a layer of M filamentary elements around a temporary core, to form a temporary assembly. The splitting apparatus of the facility splits the temporary assembly into at least the first and second assemblies of M1 filamentary elements and M2 filamentary elements.
